Everything is college is ridiculously broad. You'll have to choose a specific path in Zoology if you study it. There will be plenty of awesome internships available for you though. Anyhow, yeah... I agree... get some sort of zoo certificate if you just want to directly work with animals.
get your self a job at a vet clinic, if your lucky you might get to go around and work as the vets helper when he does calls(large animals) and if i were you ide go back to school so you can the that high school diploma.. it looks better then a ged if your trying to become a veterinarian and applying to vet school same goes with zoologie . lol besides if you passed the ged tests then high school should be a breeze. this is jsut my general understanding and opinion though so i might be wrong in some areas. And i do work at a vet clinic
Not everything in college is broad. There are some programs out there that are more focussed. Im planning on going to a school that has a primate behavior and ecology major. Almost all the classes you take are involved with primates and they house the only troop of signing apes and the guy who was teh first ever to teach a primate to sign is the director of the program. Preatty much every class on there i would choose to take on my own if it were required or not. http://www.cwu.edu/~primate/program_dis.html There are good programs. You just have to search hard to find them.
It's more on the lines of "You have to pay good money to be in them". Anyhow, that course list looks fascinating.
Thats not true. I mean college is expensize, but thats true for anywhere. I plan on living in washington for a year before enrolling and then attending college for 4.5 grand a year.
Thats what jobs are for. Lets say 5 grand for the average public college. You can get a 10$ an hour paying job if you look hard enough. Maybe an extra 5 grand for room and board. Max. So thats 20 hours of work a week. If you want to go to college, you can make it work.
