there is a definite difference between redneck and white trash. I don't like either term though because of the negative connotations. and I don't want to be associated with the stereotypical redneck. but I'll say I definitely have some strong American roots

 

Yeah, I have an Italian PHD that works for me and she only knows the word redneck to be derogatory. I had to explain everything to her. She's first generation American, straight off the boat. I thought it was pretty cute, actually. Truth is, I don't mind the term redneck. I know my roots. I'm actually proud to represent my people and represent them well.
