Neato. I was born while my dad was station in Ft Dix. That's my goal, to get the top score on the final thing. I'm going in to fire cannons -- field artillery/ cannon crewmember/ 13 bravo. How sexy is that? Wtf? Thank ye. Hmm..possibly.... I think I'm gonna be a greedy capitalist instead, though. :H Is your boyfriend still in the army?
I could be one of those people... but thats asking quite a bit. I mean obviously I joined cos I have a hankerin' for killing civilians. Obviously
wow, i remember you writing about dodging the draft and now you're joining up volutarily.. how things change... hehe, congrats on your promotion and the awesome pt score and good luck in basic! exciting isn't it? a new life about to start... i'd think overseas would be fun since you don't have a family and all that. it was tough on us when my dad would go.
aha, yeah, I'm quite the hypocrite eh? thanks Did your dad ever go to Korea? 'Cos I know you cant bring your family there if you have one. Or was he just sent to "war" places? Mine went to Panama, Egypt, Bosnia, Kosovo, and he should've went to Afghanistan but he got it out of it. We couldnt go with him then, but, I didn't mind. If I get offered Korea.. I'm gonna shit myself.
Yeah, that's why I like to do re-enacting every now and then. At least we can still pretend to do it nowadays in the Sons of Confederate Veterans... but I still think they should go back to muskets and black powder. My town always holds a revolutionary war re-enactment at the courthouse circle area next to where our house is (I don't know if you remember that brick circle with the road going around it and the old 1600s courthouse enclosed in it). The third militia ever assembled for the Revolutionary War started right there... But, I'm usually band or color guard, even though I think I'm still the youngest re-enacting Quartermaster in this state.
my dad went to korea after my parents got divorced so it wasn't a big deal... we never saw him anyway. he did go to saudi arabia in 92 and the was going to go to somalia but got sent back and surprised us on christmas at my grandma's house... that was really cool. my stepdad was also in the military and suggests doing all the traveling and overseas stuff right away so you don't have to when family stuff gets in the way.
They give my mom HD when she got pregnant with me. My dad got out two months before I was born! Haha....the hardest part for him getting into that kind of shape was quitting smoking. He did it, though. That's way sexy, Chuck! :H Haha....that works too! Just don't waste your money on cheap hos and cheap beer. Only the best. He's out now. But, he wants to go back into the military, though. He wants to be Coast Guard so he'll still have the full-time military benefits and pay, but he'll be home a lot more since he has a baby coming.
People always make fun of the Coast Guard, but they tend to forget that the Coast Guard specializes in saving people while everything else focuses on killing people. My dad worked the Mississippi on the USS Cimmaron.
If you can max out all your PT's, you should ask to be considered for green berets. It'll be two years of hellishly intense training, but by the time your done, you will be a true bad ass. By the time you get out of training, green berrets will be operating in a way that they mask any traces of their existance while they parachute out of stealths and destroy militas before they can reach for their weapons. That'll be enough excitment for anyone. You might have PTSD by the time your 25 though.
That bugs the crap out of me....that people make fun of them. I think they're just a big a hero as anyone in the military. My boyfriends eyesight kept him from getting into the Green Berets. He really wanted to be with the GBs.
some of my friends want to be apart of the SOC for there branch - be it SEALS, green berets, rangers, force recon, air force spec ops.....badass people....
Yeah I do remember that place... and that reenacting shit is pretty darn awesome. I went to one once, but we got there real early and I was with my dad and he doesn't like to wait. So we missed it all.
I meant that I was born when he was stationed in Ft. Dix. So.. there is relevence to what i said. What is HD? I can't imagine what BT would be like for a smoker... You don't have to worry about me! :H That's pretty awesome... I wouldn't want to be in the Coast Guard unless I was an officer, though. I looked into their grunt jobs when I was looking into the Armed Forces, they sounded pretty crappy (not that I have anything against the CG). But not as bad as Navy grunt jobs.
I'm gonna work to be near or at the top of my class and max everything out, but I dunno if I'll go there if asked to. I don't really want to be in the Army any longer than 4 years at this point in my life, but I dunno, I guess I'll find out. I doubt I'll even be considered for GB
Ah, for some reason I thought it was some kind of pain killer. And isnt it awesome! I watched the movie for the first time last nite... I figured it was going to suck, but I loved it.
Well that's swell. Ahahaha... the last scene of the movie, during the news, when they showed the composite sketches "of" Harold and Kumar, that was awesome. Neil Patrick Harris. gah I need to buy that movie soon.
