personally, BraveSirRubin, I would not bother with it (if anything I'd have told him how ridiculous he was being right to his face) but how can you blame Carl for wanting to?
i should think, rather obviously to not ever do bussiness with them agian. that's the only thing that hits a comercial enterprise where it lives anyway. that and seriously anti-recomending it to anyone who asks your oppinion of it. that is of course, if you are being yourself fair and honest in your assessment of the situation. which might almost be questionable in the context of this thread having been started. =^^= .../\...
I would not give to much creedence to it. The guy was likely not having a good day and maybe felt horrible about it afterwards. I have psycho moments like that too when I feel everything is going against me so I lashed out. After those moments I will beat myself up for days about it. Have you had other incounters with the same dude? How did they go? If I were you, I would just shrug my shoulders and send the man some compassion and love....we all have hard days and even if he didn't....he is still in need of some understanding. If he reacted like that on the outside, you have no idea the hell he is living on in the inside. Peace, love and light.
It still amazes me how intolerant some of you are. "Rude" behaviour, punished by reporting him? Yes he'll get fired, ofcourse he will... I just think that doing something like that is heartless.
It's how you process the action... Think of it as doing the clerk a favor by pushing him toward more suitable work. Being that badly put off by a simple mis-transaction suggests that he is in the wrong line of work. Enabling him to continue working a job he is ill-suited for isn't doing him any favors in the long run. What motivates the reaction to bad service is immaterial.
You are not in the position to judge if a complete stranger is good at what he does or isn't. It's as simple as that. As I said before... shit... it's good that he's an asshole at work and gets away with it, he broke the boundaries. Let him learn his own lesson and let his managers deal with him. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO INTERFERE IN THE LIFE OF A COMPLETE STRANGER IN THAT WAY! Americans just don't seem to get this.
I can't completely dismiss you point but we DO have a right to expect to be treated with basic courtesy when doing business. If someone has issues with temper control and has a tendency to overreact to minor inconveniences then he has no business dealing with the public. Period. If I have been subjected to grossly poor treatment by someone paid to deal with the public then I'm in a uniquely good position to conclude that he or she is in the WRONG LINE OF WORK. Personally, I'd let it pass but clearly Carlfloydfan is bothered enough to be motivated to do something. I think most of the suggestions are constructive enough.
Thats what I have been doing. And I have been rather fair. How is this thread questionable at all? come on. I was asking for advice to increase fair treatment. I was very fair in my assesment looking at this thread again to begin with. A thread like this is no different than telling people not to go.
I still do not think that it's any of your buisness or Carl's buisness or anything else. Just don't shop there, honestly... don't get your nose where it doesn't belong... just don't shop there.
But his actions interfered with me and my actions, I am a stranger to him. He made me feel very uncomfortable over something very simple. If I did that myself, I would expect someone to call me out on it. I won't shop their, and word of mouth to friends, when they ask where to go, won't mention that place. It has nothing NOTHING NOTHING to do with being an American. Its about being treated with respect. Anyone from any country would like that I am sure. why bring it into the conversation? again? My french gf agreed. My french friend agreed. My netherlands friend agreed. that these people are bastards. they have been there. they did not enjoy the place and agreed with my actions I wanted to take. since you bring up nationality...
Yes, he interfered with you, does that mean that you have to interefere with him? What is this eye for an eye ideology? Just walk away, honestly. ... I bring up Americans because this only happens in America, and believe me, I have been to enough places to make a logical comparison. Only in America do people get offended so easy, and only in America do people seek such pointless revenge.
I respect your opinion Pavel and am not entirely in disagreement with you. My responses are based on the conclusion that Carl is determined to react. He posted for suggestions and apart from one flip response I feel they all were constructive. I can more than empathize with frustration at being treated poorly by customer service. Generally I let it pass- mindful of the fact that they are getting shit for pay and have to deal with a stream of people- many being assholes who expect to be waited on hand and foot.
I see what you're saying, yes yes... and I do see your point, all I'm saying is that acting upon something like that... is just... heartless and weak.
It's cultural... we're shimmying back down the evolutionary pole. Why do you think we elected a chimp to lead us? Bad customer service is just a symptom of our national disease.
well, hell, it was inevitable when they told us that we come from apes. we were much better off with self-delusion.
The best thing to do is not start a scene of any kind, if you don't like the sevice just don't go back.
