i wish people would stop using the term man chowder *shudders*
but yeah, the 2012 thing is a bit overdone. i watched a special on it and it was fairly nifty like, but a lot of the conclusions drawn from the past could easily be wrong due to misinterpretation and human error, yknow? eh, but it overhwleming the forum is teh suxx0rz

alternative medicine and hypnosis are real things, aren't they?

 

Reflexology, chiropracty, homeopathy, magnets, and acupuntcture, are all things that are not medicine.

Herbal medicine has some benifits, but 90%'s also bullshit.

Hypnosis works if the subject wants it to work. And the subject always has complete control of themselves. So, no, not real.

on alternative medicines, i was thinking of medicinal herbs when i asked. i already knew acupuncture and all that was bull, i should have been more specific.

 

Well of course there are herbal medicines which have chemical compositions which make them, in a completely non esoteric fashion, useful for medicine. Valerian promotes rest, marijuana eases pain of arthritis and glaucoma.

but herbs don't kill viruses. And they don't fight cancer. And I find their promotion to victims of the latter to be heartbreaking.
