I wonder if there is a connection.

VG, from checking this stuff out, and this isn't the first time I've looked into it, the three main factors in early onset of puberty are,
Obesity (you are right on that one)
pollutants (including hormones in the food chain)
    and chronic, prolonged stress.

the time frames talked about are the past couple hundred years, and more specifically the last few decades which actually makes the change even more dramatic.

beyond that you don't really grasp how evolution works and as usual are going off on VG's how things work type of science.
maybe you should do a little more research and actually educate yourself beyond your ill informed opinions.

also Undies is and isn't wrong.
the Earth's orbit around the sun is slowing down, but the rotational speed has increased and the length of a day is getting shorter, much of that is due to human activity, go look into water stockpiling. We have changed the distribution of water and thereby the distribution of mass and have altered the rotational speed.

Google it and go learn something

Mmmmm hmmmm, even a couple hundred years means nothing in the evolutionary time line

LOL, you forgot to mention No.1 in "main factors of early onset of puberty in females" nudge nudge wink wink, it has to do with their daddeeeeeees (VG pulls icky face)

I wonder where this earlier onset on menstruation is being seen? Is it in all Western countries? Globally? In just a few of the more privileged areas? I think this would give us a clue, because like VG said, there are so many variables to control for.

In the 90's, I recall a pediatrician telling my family that the hormones added to dairy products and meat were responsible for earlier onset of menstruation. Not sure if this is true, but I always took it for granted.

I do know that earlier periods are correlated with some unpleasant stuff--higher risk of breast cancer for one. But there might be a 3rd variable there causing both things, perhaps obesity or poor diet.

I realize this. But the body wants to maintain a hormonal balance between testoserone and estrogen. There is a side effect of Steroid use that Bodybuilders and Roidheads refer to as "Bitch Tits". The cause of this is that the person is booting roids or artificial testoserone and their body is producing more estrogen to compensate. Eventually the Roidhead grows actual breasts.

Also your glandular systems like the Adrenal System can burn out from too much use. If you keep putting artificial estrogen into your body at a rate that it can't keep up with producing testoserone those glands will probably stop working. It is kind of like a slower version of "Bitch Tits".

Except the growth hormones that are put into chickens and cows are to produce more muscle which is what steroids do. If this were the case adding testoserone to testoserone would result in young men going into puberty younger. Increasing estrogen like soy allegedly does is adding estrogen to estrogen makes more estrogen. 1+1 does not equal 0.

Life expectancy has also jumped up over the last 100 years, doubling from what it wouldnt have been 5000 years ago, 60% more than it was in 1900

Something also we have never experienced in the entire course of human history

So, if we are talking about the impact of stress, the stress of having 2, 3 times the ratio of older, creepier men (and women) compared to times of Yor....also one big variable

And I doubt you'll ever see any studies on the effect of geriatrics on pre pubescant teen girls...that aint ever going to get funding
