Of course they hate us because of our support for Israel. I just don't see how muslims have any more right to the land than the Jews do. Your example of the Italians taking over Britain isn't relevant because the Romans did not have thousands of years of history in Britain the same way the Jews do in their region. The Palestinians also have a long history in the region, but IMO it is wrong to say that they have anymore right to the land than the Jews. At some point, one side is going to have to swallow their collective pride and learn to co exist. Until that unlikely event happens there will always be conflict there, and as long as that conflict exists, the United States will more than likely side with the Israelis because they have a culture that is more similar to our own.

I can't help but think, however, about how that relationship will change as the ethnic makeup of the United States continues to shift and white Caucasians become the minority. Once this happens, the tie that bonds the United States and Israel could dissolve. You could say that this will make any judgments the US makes on the situation more objective, but I still don't think that it will be a clear cut decision which , if any, side deserves support.

 

They should not be there in the west bank that is a occupied territory they are breaking international law.The road map for peace which is what israel pretends it wants.States that israel should withdraw to pre 1967 borders.The state of israel is not the west bank hence that is why it is called the occupied terrotories.It would be like mexicans claiming texas because they have a history there texas once belonged to mexico and it was not two thousand years ago in fact it was less than 200 years ago.And also as i said in the previous post there are a lot of jews who do not originate from that region Unless you go back by there religion thousands of years ago. which is like i could be from god knows where if i traced my routes back that far but i could hardly go there and claim there land.And i dont think the jews really care about the ethnicity of america .As long as they run it it is basically divide and conqour.There religion states that they are the earths chossen ones.Also they like to mongeralise nations.So as to muddy the waters less racial identity less brains easier to control.Ever wondered why they are so left wing and pro multi culturism.In everbody elses countrys and love to preach it there are not many imported ethnic minorities in israel.And if gets really bad they can go to israel anyway no matter what country they are in they are a israeli first and a countryman second.Also they commit gross atrocities against the palestinian people.

 

I didn't say whether or not they care about the ethnic makeup of the US. I said it would be interesting to see how the change in the US' ethnic makeup would affect the American policy towards Israel/Palestine. Ya but when you're the president, it doesn't always matter if the media is against you. In Vietnam, this was true... we had more success than people realized initially. But then came the famed Tet Offensive, which most military people will tell you was a failure from a purely military point of view. It was, however, successful in changing the media's opinion of the war, which ultimately lead to us giving up on Vietnam. The current Iraq war is different though. For a while now, the media has been against the war, as has the majority of the population. Bush, however, doesn't give a fuck. I'm sure he realizes it was a mistake but he also knows that if we were to up and leave the country today, things would only get worse over there. Saddam Hussein was the only person who was capable of quieting the pre-existing religious tensions that have always been a part of the region's history because he ruled with an iron fist. Now that he is gone, American soldiers have been forced to assume this role, rightfully or otherwise. The end result of all of this is that we aren't going anywhere despite the fact that the media and public opinion are against the war. The same would be true if Obama were elected. The opinions of the person we elect president become the policies of our country whether the people like it or not.

Therefore, I will say the same thing I've been saying but I will choose my words more carefully this time. As the ethnic makeup of the people in power in America changes, so too will our policies regarding a whole host of international issues. It is not a question of if this change will occur, but when and how. If Obama is elected president, a strong possibility if you happen to follow American politics at all, it will be a giant leap towards answering both the when and the how.

Keep in mind that the fact that public opinion and media is against Bush is nothing new. The public/media opinion of Bush was much the same in 2004 when Bush was elected as it is now. Yet he was still elected, so it seems as if the media's influence is not so great afterall.

The next logical question that you then have to ask yourself is whether or not a representative democracy is really the best way to choose your government officials. To answer this question you have to examine the alternatives. Well, there's true democracy like in ancient Athens. That sounds good, one vote per person, but that would mean that every ghetto thug's vote would count the same as every Ivy League educated person's vote. Then there's the question of whether or not it would even be practical at all in a country of over 300,000,000 people. So that's out. After that you're pretty much left with birth right and military coup, both of which make no sense whatsoever. So, in the end a representative democracy like the one we have in America is the way to go, even if it has its hiccups along the way.

Well, once you get beyond name calling and start to have an intelligent conversation with someone who disagrees with you, you learn to look at things from a different angle and discover new things about your own thought process as well as the thought process of the person you are debating with. Talking with someone about an issue that you disagree about can only broaden your horizons and can never hurt you. I mean, realistically, can you become less intelligent from listening to someone else's views? No. But what can happen is that you learn more about yourself and the world around you.
