The problem is not everyone else is voting for Kerry, half of them are voting for Bush and that is a big problem. They are not the same candidate, and Bush has showed us what he can do, I think its time for someone else. This is not baseball, we are taking about choosing between 2 candidate who have the money to pull off being on the ballot in every state and have media coverage, to a candidate that cannot even get on the ballot in key swing states, completley assuring his chances of not winning. Your ideals wont be able to win Nader a presidency this year. So its alright to vote for him so you can feel good about your ideals for the political system, while Bush (who is the polar opposite of Nader) reclaims the white house. The only person who can and will make the most difference this year is Kerry, because he is the only one who has a chance of winning. Your right that is simplistic.
I do not eat beef. So I will order what will taste better than beef, and what the cook will actually make me. Cause if he does not have the power to make me chicken, I am going to have to eat a fruit cup.
LOL I was hoping you didn't eat beef, but I wasn't sure (me either btw). But you can't look at the menu remember, you only get two choices, beef, and raw beef. Pick one. And while we are on a lighter note, I would like to clarify, that I hate baseball, however I do like the Eagles and the Flyers. (that just bugged me for a minute) If you guys really want Kerry to win, you need to call up his people and tell them that Americans are not impressed and more than likely people will just not vote this election unless he gets his head out of his ass and starts talking about something more than Veitnam and his medals. No one cares.
I don't eat meat either, but in a life and death situation I guess I would... I have done that a couple times, I email them too. I visit some forums also and ha ha they don't like to hear criticism of Kerry. They jump all over me if I suggest he could do better, Democrats piss me off sometimes. But, listen to Kerry now, I think he's coming around.
My gender isn't what I was wanting to come out, just your anger and identical feeling for Nader as mine for Kerry. I'm not trying to tell you how to vote, mostly just defending my vote. Of course I encourage people to vote for Kerry, but if your mind is made up, good for you. Im not a Democrat, I never said I was! I just don't have a problem with other people saing they are and I don't judge them based on that. Well Nader has no chance so I'll vote for someone who won't assault the environment and will improve the economy and won't start wars. He's been in a war and knows how fucked up they are, he wouldn't start one. Listen up, I have a younger brother who is of draft age. Do you think I would vote for someone who started a war that didn't need to be waged? Fuck that. I want Bush out. Only Kerry can do that. You say "vote your conscience", well I am. Do you think I could sleep at night knowing I didn't help get Bush out of office if my brother got drafted in on of the many wars Bush is liable to start? My best friend's brothers just left for basic training a couple months ago and will be shipped out at the end of Oct. to Iraq. Their division specualates that they will be in a hot spot and if Bush is elected (for the first time) there will be outrage and will be very dangerous over there. How can you not see the position some of us are in?! Perhaps you have no one over in Iraq and are not afraid that you will face that in the future, but think about those that do. I'm hoping Kerry gets more progressive once elected.
One problem with the "restaurant analogy" people are using. This is looking at the election as if ONLY YOU mattered, as choosing what to eat effects YOU only, and not the rest of the people in the restaurant. In an election, EVERYONE gets effected. Not just you. Elections are NOT personal, they are nationwide, it is MORE than just a "personal choice."
Ok three choices no menu, your choices then are: Beef Raw Beef Nader The cook says he can't make Nader anymore because he isnt on the ballot on every state. haha i cant help myself I love the analogy, but deadbear knows its more than about choice, or at least I hope she does (I get the feeling she does). She just has decided with what information she has tha she cannot bring herself to vote for beef, even if that means letting raw beef win.
You're quite welcome. I'll give an update regarding how minor-party candidates have been doing. Badnarik will appear on forty-eight state ballots. It was to my understanding that we lost the lawsuit filed in Oklahoma. Again, we also won't be on the ballot in New Hampshire as well. Nader will not appear on the ballot in California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Oklahoma and Virginia. In Oregon, the matter is going to the US Supreme Court, and the ballot status is still pending in Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, North Carolina and Texas. All other minor party candidates will appear on the ballot in fewer than forty states. Again, for further updates, go to www.ballot-access.org. For any of those who are still are skepical about voting, I urge you to read the following commentary at www.fff.org/comment/com0409i.asp. Granted, the information does carry a libertarian bias to it.
