No, it isn't a very very small chance that you'll get pregnant at all. Condoms are only 98% effective against pregnancy when used properly. So for every 50 shags, there's generally one pregnancy. That's not really a lot of sex if you're in a long-term relationship.

And the pill? Haven't you just recently posted a thread about the Mirena, because you're scared on the pill and worry about taking it on time? So you know from personal experience how easy it is to forget to take a pill or not take it properly.

No birth control is 100% effective besides not having sex at all. We're only human! We're built to have sex. From the age of about 12 it's all about raging hormones. Having sex WITH birth control and not wanting to get pregnant is a risk almost everybody seems to think is worth taking. Even you, otherwise you wouldn't worry so much about your pill/Mirena.

That makes no sense! The idea opposing your suggestion of pro-life is pro-choice. Not pro-death, it's pro-choice. It's the suggestion that a woman should be able to control her own fertility. It is after all her body, her hormones, her baby and her right.

Okay. So what sort of effort did he put in? He had a good night, possibly a good drink and a great shag. He certainly didn't go through the effort and the potentially long ordeal of planning this baby, it was an accident. All he did was dump some goo in her slot. All it took from him was one tiny tadpole. She made that baby, it would grow and be nurtured in her body.

Just because a woman decides the best thing for her and her baby is termination, doesn't make her a heartless bitch. If I decided that termination was the best thing for myself and the child I was carrying, it doesn't mean I'd be perfectly happy and relieved to hand the kid over and never see it again. There's a whole bunch of hormones and emotions that come with having a baby whether you want it or not. Some women don't want the emotional strain of falling in love with a child that they don't want on a realistic level.

The idea that women should have to give birth to the children they don't want because someone else does is a ludicrous one. And if you truely believe it isn't, then you should consider contacting some childless couples who are looking for a surrogate. You think it's that easy to grow a baby and give it away, go do it.

A lot of people are really fucking stupid on this forum.

Re-read my sentence again, dummy, A SMALL CHANCE. I did NOT say that we'll ALL protected

And I want to get on Mirena so its EVEN a better chance of not getting pregnant. I have shit to do in the day time. So what that I get worried at times. Get over it. at least im not popping out babies and living off the government

Yeah, because you can really win an argument with an attitude like that.

My understanding that the risk of pregnancy is 2% per year, not per fuck. That's assuming no operator errors, which is a huge factor.

I never have had trouble remembering to take birth control pills. I take one first thing every morning. Some women take them last thing before bedtime. A friend of mine, while she was getting used to taking them every day, kept the pack on top of her alarm clock.

Back when I was able to take birth control pills I never forgot to take them.

Unfortunately for me due to migraines and ovarian cysts I can't really take birth control anymore.

Ah so that's like 1 in 2000. Still, if 50 women have sex every 9 days (apparent average?) and use a condom correctly, 1 will become pregnant in a year, or realistically because it's not used properly- 1 in 7. Still, high odds when written like that- Especially considering how many girlfriends I have.

I don't have trouble remembering mine either. It's in the bathroom, I take it last thing at night.

First of all. I'm not pro life or whatever you want to label it.

And what do you mean it makes no sense? Some chick lies, says she's on the pill (she's not), gets knocked-up against the guys wishes, than controls his financial life for the next 18 years.

If the guy has no say so in her pregnancy, thay why should she have a say in his life?

Free choice is about choosing for ones self-- not a special right for women to veto men.
