hehe, i've been adding the dandelion greens to my salads. i went mostly with salad type plants and it's a very intensive garden. i've got rockin' compost and sea soil that i'm growing in. yummy lettuces, mescluns and spinaches are on my table now. tomatoes just went in the ground. by the time my slow library got the square foot gardening book to me, i already had almost everything planned and planted. hope others are benefitting from all the amazing knowledge that's been shared here ~~happy greeen gardening vibeeesss~~
I have carrots, lettuce, shallots, pumpkins, chives, spring onions and parsley in the garden. I also have basil, mint, and thyme in pots.
100 square foot plot. This is a lot of room. you do not mention what shape this plot is. 25 ft x 4 ft would be very nice. This is the kind of bed I usually have. 4 ft wide is wide enough for a double row of whatever. Plenty of room for a patch of tomatos, a patch of beans, & even some cukes! By now, you should be thinking about your next succession planting. carrots, turnips, mustard, & kale! 10ft x 10 ft would be difficult but not unmanageable.
