Piez, you are one frighteningly sad human being. You're in my prayers.

Wow, interesting to hear Kandahar accuse someone of being a troll. Trolls and hypocrits abound!

To the genuises who still enjoy saying "if you don't like it here, then leave", my answer to that is: what's the point? when the Empire wants to get you, the Empire is going after you, no matter where you are. I suppose I could move to Norway though... lol

And what makes you think we're not doing anything about it anyway?

Many of the people here do their part to make things better. Some may not be able to do much, but they still try with what little they can do. That counts as well.

Turn it around...if there was an administration in office that you thought was leading the country to spiral down and down and down, wouldn't you bitch, complain, and fight against it? And then when someone said to you, "god, if you hate it so much, why don't you just leave?" What would you say to them?

I love my home, I love my family and friends, and I honestly want the best for not only the country, but the world....and hell...change starts at home. I try to better myself all the time, and I do what little I can to try and better my home, my state, my country, and hope it just keeps spreading....maybe hoping too much...but what the hell.

Remember that time when you accused that guy of being an FBI informant, and you were thoroughly humiliated by everyone on this forum? Yeah, that was a good time.

Has anyone informed this idiot yet that not everyone has the money to just up and leave their hometown...let alone the country? I love it when peple say things like "oh why don't you just leave then" as if it were as easy as going and getting on the "Free Boat to Europe". I'm sure a lot of people would leave if they could. I mean is it stupidity or maybe he gets off on getting people pissed off?

Hell I'm on my way to Paris right now. I thought I would get myself a home there, and another in Spain just in case the French gov't pisses me off.

Oh wait...where'd I put my millions of dollars again???

I'm too young to leave. If anything else happens though, I'll be on the first plane to Canada, England, or Venezuela where I have friends and wait until I'm 18 to marry one of them and become a citizen of their country. But until the shit REALLY hits the fan, I'm working on changing things from the better from the inside.

Kandahar, I was calling you a HYPOCRIT because you just did the same fucking thing! Only you're too stupid to realize it and how humiliated you should be right now!
You have a twisted view of a good time. A good time for me, though, would be to meet you in person, and bash your head into the concrete so you'll stop annoying me here. Ahhh, such a sweet fantasy. Obviously, I don't like you very much and the only reason you have the balls to say what you say to me is because you get to hide behind a computer screen while you do it. I'd like to see you shiver and studder trying to formulate a sentence to me face to face. Pussy.

let's see, I've lived in the US for almost my entire life, with time here and there (and it only took plane fare..I worked.) plan on retiring to Mexico/Central America at some point for the sun.
BUT I ascribe to my country right or wrong...(waits for response...) When right, to be kept right and when wrong, to be put right.
This is my home. This is where i grew up. I love the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains, aside from the fleas that infest the condos up the mountains' sides... I love the California Coast, Portland's river, hell, I even like Galveston.
Why should I let some right wing nut balls run me off? THEY can leave, I say.

My whole opinion is this: Americans ( as a whole) are spoiled, selfish, self absorbed, ignorant, rude, immature, overfed, overpampered, addicted and just generally a drag to be around.

If we're moving towards a totalatarian dictatorship...well duh, it's our own fault for letting comfort, security, entertainment and wealth become more important to us than freedom.

If we have a president who'se a greedy, dishonest, semi-literate, alcoholic---well duh! If those have become our values what do you expect?

Well said! Our government has turned its back on the constitution to which it is supposed to be accountable. Contrary to what many say, there is more to the constitution than many people would like you to believe! As such, we need to educate the public on this and hold our elected officials accountable.

FTR. I feel it to be necessary for me to clarify the difference between a patriot and a nationalist. The former refers to someone who believes in fighting for what is right and doing his/her best to make the country or community in which s/he is a part of a better place to live. The latter, by contrast is based on the pompous ideology of "my country (community)-right or wrong."

Yes, like you my family and friends are here and I wouldn't want to leave. I feel the best thing we can do is feed the resistance movement as much as posssible. Check out:

Agreed. Did you know that reading the US Constitution is not a mandatory part of any history or social studies curriculum in ANY state? I think this is a travesty. If more people actually read the Constitution (assuming they thought it was a good idea to follow it), I doubt we'd have a 98% reelect rate in Congress.

But doesn't just about EVERYONE fit that description? Even if people aren't actively giving back to the community, most people would agree with the sentiments.

Personally I don't necessarily consider being "patriotic" to be a good thing...but I guess I'm viewing it from a different definition of what patriotism is.
