both sides push the idea, that one group of people has the moral authority to impose it's will through force upon everyone, to get everyone to comply with (what they call) "peace" and, "order"

Thankfully, people are waking up, and understanding that the problems are on both sides of the political spectrum, still, few will admit that the problem is in the institution of force, we call "Government."

However, it is an obvious fact. The biggest lie of the Government, is convincing their citizens, that they are above Human Rights and, basic morality; They are given a pass to kill, steal and, lie, in the name of "fighting crimes" which 90% of, are non-violent and victimless, and, not true Crimes.

after realizing this, i've become an anarchist, and I simply can't accept that a brutal racket of force and violence, is the way to "peace."

Most people who voted for Obama the first time voted based on his skin color and wanting to elect the first african american president.

I think those who feel disillusioned by the voting process, either held the idea of what democracy was and is realistically about on a pedestal, and thus are reacting this way because they were too idealistic to begin with.

Most of the outcomes that have come out of the 2008 election and the 2012 one, have been what I expected them to be given that we have a divided Congress.

So I am not disillusioned, and if one really doesn't like violence and wants to be a true anarchist, the best why to support those ideals to shed all materialistic things from your life that originated from corrupt business deals of the early 1900's.

You can't, it is impossible to do so, therefore you gain nothing on moral argumentative ground because you ENJOY benefits from the system that is competing for resources and thus inevitably leads to forceful taking of those resources from wherever on the globe.

Isn't this thread supposed to be about Obama and how you relate to his accomplishments, or lack of, if you voted for him?

I would vote for Obama a third time if I could in order to avoid allowing a fundamentalist neocon or even worse a libertarian into the presidency.

People need to get out of their caves once and a while, and see what's happening in the world.

I see corporate greedy choking the poor to death. I'm tired of hearing about government overreach, how about we start discussing corporate overreach?

Government Overreach is a much more valid topic. Corporations only have overreach abilities through the Government and bribery, so even "corporate overreach" is just a mere branch of Government Overreach

I see what your saying I don't agree with your lumping them together in your rhetoric, there's a connection for sure, but you make it seem too simplified, possibly because doing so makes it easier to argue your POV.

But I've expressed this before. I prefer a case by case look at each industry, and it's relationship and thus outcomes with government. Sometimes it's good and other times it's downright nasty. (2008 was an example of that nastiness)

Take away the regulatory effect of government and you essentially have people doing whatever they can. The undivided ego of the human mind is greedy, fearful, and predatory. This is the mind of a CEO, of a corporation as a unite.

Government is set up with a two party system, with many checks and balances within the system to self regulate. Perhaps if all humans checked and balanced themselves well, we could have peace without our government. But we don't.

Individuals cannot be allowed to have too much power. It always corrupts them. CEOs at this time have too much power. Just look at Fox News, a megaconglomerate CEO owned station. What a joke of a news station it's become, surpassing all other News Station in terms of how off the mark and out of touch with reality the programming is, aimed at the lowest common denominator and constantly feeding the viewer misinformation and misrepresentation of facts by the minute. Fox News has had more of a toxic effect on America than any violent video game, porno, or violent TV show or movie. This station is spinning the news to cater to a very specific mind, the mind of it's founder, a capitalist. That is the kind of TV programming you get from a corrupt CEO with too much power.

Moonglow, CNN, is just as biased, and, have been caught pushing propaganda. abc, msnbc and CNN, all have a major bias, and get information DIRECTLY from the White House. But Liberals NEVER mention their biases and lies..

Umm that's untrue, I've seen journalists and news anchors take on claims made from the White House and other places on mamba Rachel Maddow's show before.

I've also seen claims from anybody questioned on various fact checking websites.

It also seems that you buy into the idea that because one holds bias that that means what they are saying is wrong.

I've studied political science and I can say for sure that one can have a bias, but they can still be factually correct in the end.

American media really is shit for the most part though. It was my dream to be a journalist for years so I really love to stumble upon a piece of good investigative journalism but its really rare I read or hear anything from any any American news outlet that actually reflects integrity and in depth investigation.

Part of the reason for that is that media only pick stories that can get them a lot of ratings on TV. Again private for-profit news companies owned by only a couple of individuals.

I agree. I dont think its a liberal vs conservative issue, just a corporate issue. The best media in America in my opinion are the two getting by with government grants and public funding - npr and PBS.
