oh yeah .......the hit had some stricnine (sp?) in it they said cuz my stomach hurt so much, I never did touch the real stuff again. Yeah great to read y'all hangin in there on minimal stuff, really. I think it makes the animal instinct in people real nervous to do drugs and kills off a persons natural way of dealing with things by setting into motion in the mind to much afterthought about the tripping thereby displacing a healthy wonder aobut things. I've met so many people who have done drugs that are spiritual know-it- alls that seem to think they have the answers to cosmic questions better than people who don't do pyschedelics. I don't think we have better answers, I just think we have different ones. I do think people who are on the higher end of awareness after taking certain drugs have more of acceptance of others drug or non-drug lifestyles, and this is so gawd dayum important in society right now it is beyond most peoples mysterious minds to fathom it. I mean sheet, how can anyone be happy focusing on their own difference to a majority of people and really feel self-confident with who they are unless they steer clear of trying to make other people like them. I think this is why Timothy O Leary, whom my brother met in a bar, died young. One the reasons anyways. He was sure a great speaker on some social issues in some of his more lucid moments though.
Wow-good post Honor and great picture-I really miss that artwork-There really was alot of good art back then-Maybe the acid had something to do with it-I did alot of it-But-I was always a little afraid of it-it was unpredictable at times-I did realize that to trip in the middle of a big city like San Francisco can be real interesting and sometimes scary-Of course in those daze there were alot of very strange looking characters-lol=and it was like a circus-wild animals and all!---I saw Tim Leary at the park when he said to tune in-turn on- and drop out--o-well-made sense at the time-anyway-I would really have prefered to be up in the woods or at the beach to do anything after that-Natural settings-some good friends with guitars;flutes bag -a-rag and a bottle a wine-and whoops=I did it again!-AH-to be bulletproof again-lol
Wow Rob I just noticed you're in Vancouver Wash, maybe we'll meet up someday. Yeah, I found nature and the outdoors to be the way to healing myself, the birds here in theis country like setting on the beach seem to talk to me early in the morning. I feel like I have been camping out in this ole 1964 mobile home since 1987 here. I started off drinking a lot cuz that is all the other people do around here to socialize in public. I quit a few years back and don't regret it one bit. It was really cool to sit around by a campfire late into the evening listening to some rock and roll, watching the embers fly and die and drinking the beer tho. Yeah, my opinion of the colorful art coming out of that time is quite high, I love the show business colors of the rainbow as you can tell from an ilustration that I did for a childs book. peace to all Honor
oh, I want to add that I did pyschedelic mushrooms a few years back.....it felt like I was being forced to appreciate nature to quick......I dunno. I didn't like that hurried feeling. made me uneasy around people. The others were just laughing.......me......everytime I started using my imagination on purpose the room started changing to a different shape depending on which type of imaginary scene I thought of.......what I think is that I had an overload in the imagination department. I have plenty of imagination without any drugs, so when I did them i felt like a tennis ball that just got whacked and that is to fast for me to go. Made me like seasick. plus holding a conversation with any of the people with me was a joke, they just thought everything I said was the funniest thing they ever heard, and that is a total bummer when you want to take the opportunity to explore the workings of thinking as it is effected by shrooms at the time. yeah, felt like the moonbeams were attacking me and trying to keep me inside from nature I love.......bleeeeeeeehhhhhhh. HS
Sounds like fun-I haven't done any mushrooms since the 70s when I was living down in Salem' Oregon--We used to go pick a bunch then freez them for the winter-They were good in omletts-and spagetti--etc.-The best way I found to do them was to eat em while ya pick em-that way you can kind of monitor the dose-when ya can't seem to be able to pick any more-youve had enough!--Then they went and made them illegal-bummer-so-what part of the coast you at?
