actually with all the stuff about a one world government and a secret cabal bent on domination of the entire world, I'm surprised he isn't an evangelical Christian. His conspiracy fits rather nicely with the whole "end times-antichrist-one world government" Christian scenario, lots of overlap.
So if an illegal alien goes to a hospital for care and they have no money, are they denied treatment? You're naive if you believe they don't get government assistance and that this doesn't drain off the system. Also, it's relatively easy to obtain forged documents that say you're an American citizen and use those documents to obtain welfare benefits. The Center for Immigration Studies found that the average of $5,692 in Federal welfare benefits every year go to people who are here illegally. This is compared to the average of $4,431 for the average "native" American household. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/cashing-in-illegal-immigrants-get-1261-more-welfare-than-american-families-5692-vs.-4431/article/2590744
That article includes illegal and illegal immigrants in one lump sum with no explanation of the percentage of illegal vs legal And yes illegal immigrants can go to the ER and not pay their bill, healthcare is really over inflated anyways and as it is a profit motivated system it would be interesting to see how much of a loss hospitals take from unpaid bills of citizens vs illegal immigrants. My guess is not much. I have read accounts of illegal immigrants avoiding treatment for fear of deportation.
Have you seen the deficit spent on illegal immigrants? The amount of funding America puts out in order to house, feed and teach them? It's pretty mindblowing.
Have you sen the deficit spending on wars? The lack of spending on infrastructure causing billions in car damages? Bridges have fallen already. Have you seen the funding spent on do nothing legislators? I do believe people entering the country should do it legally, but I can't blame them when I think about how Mexico is run for a few with ALL the money just like it is here now. Crooked as can be. They seem to kill anyone there that gets in the way of the cartels and the crooked authorities. At least we only kill a few, such as presidents, civil rights leaders and potential presidents
Somehow this sounds like a justification for human trafficking. To bring people over to work shitty jobs for minimum wage or less.
George Washington wasn't vetted. Most of the fellas who signed the declaration of independence were illegal aliens.
My friend Joe once gave me a cut out from a newspaper. It was of two pilgrims standing at the bow of the Mayflower. One said to the other, "I came here for religious freedom; however, my long term plan is to get into real-estate.
It's not racist for America to keep poor mexicans out who are looking for a better life. Not necessarily racist at least. But in any way it is massively hypocrite. Which seems a pet peeve of the USA anyway. It's in the first place the real reason why a lot of them came.
There were no laws covering immigration here then. You can't break a law that hasn't been written yet.
You are correct however by the modern standards referred to in this thread it can be inferred that the founding fathers would be termed illegal today.
I wouldn't say she was justifying it in the least, but raising a good point - illegal immigration continues to happen because there is a job market for them. Businesses like illegal immigrants because they keep wages low. If the government was really serious about curtailing illegal immigration it would enforce stiffer penalties to companies who employ them.
It would seem rather obvious to me however since it would not appear to be the same for you I shall endeavor to elaborate. If this country were founded by men who could be termed illegal aliens by current standards then it stands to reason that if our ancestors held to the same concept the united states would never have existed. Perhaps more so almost all of our population growth over the formative years can be attributed to immigration and as such would have most likely been stunted by such ideas as espoused here.
The Bracero project of the 50s worked just about like that. Human trafficking that is.Thousands and thousands of Mexicans were let in to work the crops, then were sent back to Mexico, often by bus. Back then, I suppose immigrants had respect for US law and they willingly left to go home. I don't blame them though. It's a crummy country, from my viewpoint, although they do have universal healthcare.
I don't think Ghost was justifying it either, but it is a common talking point that I hear all the time: "Without illegal immigrants, nobody will work those jobs in the field and stuff like that." Nonsense! Back in the 1940s, there used to be a bus service in my city that would pick up teenagers and poor people and send them out to the farmland to pick berries and crops for quick under the table cash, and it worked. It's also worth noting that mass immigration (legal or not) keeps wages low in unskilled labor jobs for nationally born citizens who work those jobs. Which is why I believe xenophobia and racism is stereotypically more prevalent among the lower class who is stuck working those jobs.
