We need to learn the difference between desireless and desirelessness.

If a man has no desire to eat he will die, if he has no desire to learn he will not grow, if he has no desire for love he will never be free. So man needs desires. To know what desires one needs and what one wants is something to think about though.

Now desirelessness is a state an enlightened man reaches. A state of nirvana, a state of liberation, a state of bliss. A state where all desires have been met and there are none left, one does not need to eat, does not need to sleep, does not need to think, all desires have been met, he is just being. This is why people say we must try to detach from things, to prepare us for this state, we cannot completley detach until we are ready though.

Psychedelics are our few hour detachment from everything, we forget ourselves in that state, we are liberated for a period of time, but as the chemical wears off and our body realizes its needs again, in comes our attachment.

well, if it happened, then you were ready. i guess i look at it from the point of view that if it is your karma to experience it, then you will. if it isn't your karma, then you won't. but what i was trying to point out is that when it is your karma to experience it, then you will easily acquire the physical means.

 

This is very true, from personal experience off of an eighth of cyans I pretty much got my shit smacked around, nightmarish stuff, I couldn't live without my ego and I wouldn't let it go, just because I was young and arrogant and bla bla bla. But I took a hit of some pretty mediocre cid and I let it all happen and how it unfolded I had had the soft cushiony ego loss that LSD provides. So there you go.
