Perhaps you will find really good friends here. Some people do care. Meanwhile... question. Is footy in OZ a religion or a sport?
It's a national sport. It's similar to the NFL which you might be familiar with, except our aussie rules players don't wear the padding, leggings or helmets. I umpire it locally during the winter months as a goal umpire. It is a fun thing to be involved with.
I know all that from when I lived in Bingil Bay in Queensland. Is it a religious experience for you all? Or simply a sport... my mates in OZ act as if it's the second coming of Christ when there is a match to be watched.
It depends upon if they are one eyed fans. Some people are that passionate about it. I'm a North Melbourne supporter and am somebody who gets a membership each year. AFL - News, Fixtures, Scores & Results - AFL.com.au if you want more info. There are a few of us aussies here who are passionate fans of the sport.
Yes and I am just a UK chap born in Liverpool but now living in North Wales who just like you. I just wanna have fun! Mind you. There are a minority on this forum who will try and scupper that, but don’t let the bastards get ya down!
