I don't understand why people argue over differences in religion. You're never going to convince someone that what they believe is wrong. Let them do what they want with their own lives if they're not hurting anyone.

 

That's the thing, this religion DOES hurt people, a lot of them. A day or so after converting (or "reverting", as she put it) she was championing censorship of porn, despite the fact that she'd admitted to MAKING porn.

There's a lot less amish than muslims, but they have a positive effect on my life: I eat amish eggs. Amish people sell me eggs, muslim people protest and kill people when somebody exercises their free speech (which I hold quite dear) and draws their (rather nasty) prophet. They also execute people for things like leaving their insane belief system, being accused of witchcraft, or, basically, anything they feel like using as an excuse for a good ol' stoning.

There is nothing wrong with being intolerant of bullshit. Because I do not accept something does not mean I simply don't understand it or have a closed mind, it means I have assessed it to be total bullshit.

Sorry mate, I just can't believe you are serious. I know for a fact that in real life muslims can be just as normal and reasonable as anybody else. I don't know why you feel like dragging them all down. My take is that you haven't met a lot of muslims and don't have an objective picture of muslims.
I'm not saying a lot aren't indeed fundamentalists or have some extreme views but even in the most extreme islamic countries (countries with religion mixed with politics are a bad thing for sure) there are sensible people that are against islamic indoctrination from their state too. And yes they often still happen to be muslim. And what about all the muslims in our western countries? Should we all shun them for their religion because it is abused and took to the extreme by other muslims?

Why not elaborate and make it a sensible reply? Please. I don't understand your stance at all. I thought you were an accepting reasonable person yourself. Why dismiss every muslim like that and polarize the issue. You only plea for acceptance for people you can indentify with? That's not being accepting, more like being opportunistic and even hypocritical. I'm not trying to offend you but you do not really explain anything you say here. I hope you will.
