Hmmm, everyone seems to make the association, if you hate your job its going to kill you. Which is about how it makes one feel in the here and now. When it more like simply the number of hours per day you are sitting down that is indeed the biggest killer, and plenty of evidence and studies nowadays to back that up. That is, whether you hate your boss or not, work for a corporate machine or are happily self employed, whether you have attained a state of total self actualization in regards to job satisfaction or not......none of these compare to the simple act of sitting ones arse 8 hours a day or nit In that way, emotions and therefore opinions are irrelevant
Do what makes you happy. While I find my work pleasant, and sometimes rewarding, at the end of the day it is a means to an end. I'm leaving next week for a six-week surf trip to Oman..
too much forehead again and to vanilla gorilla about the healthcare and that crap...we get it anyway...plus if she is married and the guy has a good job she is set for life ....even in a split up situation ..the laws are pretty messed up here about spousal support
I've never done any bartending but I have done some security/bouncer type of work on the side before. Drunk assholes suck. I'd hate to deal with that crap for a living.
LOL, thats random, sure some of the guys will like it But its like serious discission, serious discussion....oh and heres a picture of me on a mountain ???
Not random at all, she took a pic of her choice and it shows a happy, relaxed person. Just lovely Ash.
I have been considering a medical transcription job for this very reason. It requires very little school, pays really well, you work from home, and you get to choose your own hours. The downside is that it sounds insanely boring, but I don't plan on doing it for too many hours a week. I figured it would be a good way to make some money while I do a lot of the other freelance stuff I really love.
Just find a job you don't hate, and that doesn't require too much overtime. Enjoy the rest of your time. I guess I consider myself fairly lucky to have a meaningful career that pays a decent wage. Most jobs that matter pay shit. Funny how that works. Anyhow, there is a happy medium. I promise! I agree with VG, to an extent.
The pic wasn't random at all though...I started the thread to discuss how I chose to hike up a mountain instead of going to a job interview for a position within a large corporation. I don't understand what you're not understanding...
