do you ever go to the movies by yourself?

 

Oh yeah... actually, I saw Pooh's Heffalump Movie by myself [I have no idea... I woke up, took a rather large rip offa Dr. Beverage (my sherlock bubbler named after a teacher), and decided I would see it] then I saw it with a bunch of friends a week later. That was a crazy day.

Yes, why.. I do. I pretty much suck as far as hand drum percussion goes, but if I go over to my neighbor's and play his set of Slingerlands... with a double kick, it makes for one hell of a workout. The more I do, the better I am at cycling. I mean, even Ginger Baker was a professional cyclist at one point.

How has Lawrence Ferlinghetti changed 20th century literature?

 

Through putting spoken word poetry on a higher literary level, and to have it considered as a plausible form of literature in it's own self. And also, to open up a whole new dimension of writing in a blasé and rebelious nature. He's also helped the Beat Movement continue among writers with the City Lights bookstore.

Well, yaye. You just gave me a basic outline of my essay, considering I don't feel like writing much today. Niiice job.

Beat...is not easily definable. I don't even know if it is definable. It's cryptic, it makes ya think. It's the secret sobbing of a cynic. It flows. It's making love in a boiling vat of ink and homemade paper and eraser tape. Et cetera, et cetera.
The Beatniks were less artistic than the Beats. Like, for instance, when I read Kerouac, I don't get all tingly and whathaveyou like a lot of people do. In fact, I think it's a bit trite. Trite, that's a good word to describe the beatniks. Trite.
