C'mon, EVERYONE has said something or done something in the heat of the moment they regretted later. It's not a black/ white thing, it's a HUMAN thing. We say all this bullshit about being accepting and forgiving, but you can't forgive a man for losing his shit on stage and demonstrating he is exactly the one thing we all are? Human. He fucked up no doubt, and I'm sure he really feels awful and is embarrassed as hell. The black community whould have been better served if ole Al Sharptounge and Jesse Jackson and "Sinbad" and all the other activists had accepted his apology and shown how big they can be. Forgiveness is how communities (if not individuals) get around things and get on with life.
...and I just read that Richards was on Jesse's radio talk show yesterday or today. Doesn't say anything about Jesse accepting his apology. That'd be THE REVEREND Jesse Jackson...
Pretty lame and now I think about it everytime I watch Seinfeld, which is all the time. I think it's annoying though that some guy who is associate in some way (I forget how) with George Carlin condemned Michael Richards since when Carlin was at my school doing a show he said so much racist and sexist shit that half the audience walked out before the show was over. So I guess it is alright to say horrible offensive things as long as they are "jokes"... but it seems about the same to me.
I wonder how many Seinfeld DVD boxed sets will sell now... Maybe that's why Jerry had him come on Letterman, to try and do some damage control...
George Carlin's agent or something like that but he condemned Richards' for flipping out at the hecklers, not necessarily for saying racist shit, at least from what I've read
nothing would have been said if it wasn't the N word. Why is Al S. and Jessie J. in the picture now....where they in the audience. Give me a break.
