Impressions of the Democratic Convention

LOL, OK, I’ll lighten up.. but remember that Kerry has the best voting record in the senate for the environment.

 

So you're one of those people who believe that our rights have to be sacrificed on the altar of Safety.

Suffice it to say that if I told you my opinion of you for being that way, it would get me banned from this site, most likely. Suffice it to say that I deplore your attitude with the greatest of hostility, because through holding it, you put MY personal rights in danger, as well as those of everyone else. By tolerating the infringement of our rights, you yourself are a danger.

I'm not talking about entering a private venue for a rock concert, or even the democratic convention building -- I'm talking about a guy on a PUBLIC TRAIN. You do NOT give up your constitutional rights that protect you from warrantless search and seizure just because you ride public transportation! This guy was not said to be on his way into the convention. If he was, then yes, I'd say they're within their legitimate power to search his bag. He was on a fucking TRAIN. Did the cop search the purse of every woman on the train for guns or C4 explosives?

This is bullshit -- I can't believe how many so-called "hippies" are so eager to give up their rights so that the government can pretend to be making anybody safer. How many of you would have gotten busted for having weed in your bags?
