see how different it is for everyone, i think it might be just in the mind, if you expect it to do you good, it will do you good, but if you expect it to be bad it will be bad? were you people who had a bad experience hoping it would be good but really thought about all the bad things it could do?

First you have to heat it high enough/long enough...then wait for it to cool so it doesn't burn the crap outta the next person.

Ya I usually just take a seat when I'm sick. I remember last year before the snowball dance my friends had the car packed with their new hookah and I was soo damn sick so I just used this little dugout, haha that sucked. Then later on I went to the dance and was there for like 10 minutes then I couldn't stand it and just called my dad to pick me up, but I didn't get high from the bat ... piece of shit...

 

umm the people who dont want to spread the disease will do it each and every time, and you dont do it for every person you only do it after the peop0e who are sick (usually one person), plus you dont have to heat the piece itself, you just need to put the flame over it for a second or so.
jees how fast do you wanna smoke that you cant do that? less than 10 seconds out of your time to stop disease spreading. unless your crew sit next to eachotehr and try and smoke all their weed as fast as possible to get mashed and then go break shit and rape young girls...

 

yea i usually 'flame' the end of the bowl whenever it's passed to me anyway. less risk of getting some sickness or virus

Seriously, I was taught it takes before than just a brief flame flash to do any Good/kill something.


Oh......I was reading the other Day any instruments that may have contacted prions (ie: mad cow disease) are discarded - not sterilized.

 

yes it does take more than a brief flame on a visible thing. for something invisible, and that you know is going to be very minute (its just lip contact), several seconds of flame is gonna kill it.

no risks are taken with various viri such as mad cow. mad cow is one of the most persisting virus you can find. viri arent alive by the way. now if youve got a flu virus, a few seconds of flame is gonna steralise it nicely enough to protect. if your still paranoid, then my advice is to GET OUT OF THE ROOM if you see someone cough or sniffle.

we are not putting this into your head, we are putting it on your lips, remember. have you ever licked your fingers? do you know how many more -potential- diseases you could contract by doing that than taking a non-sexually connotative hit off a flame-sterilised piece?

Minimal public exposure during flu season.
Washing One's hands umpteen times a day along w/keeping them (and most foreign objects) outta the mouth/eyes/nose.
