All Right! Now that's what I'm talking about ... IRIE! :)

    One Love!

    EDIT:

Actually … on the politician trip, has anyone ever heard of Nandor Tanczos? He’s a former New Zealand MP, 1999 – 2008, Green Party. You can read about the Brother using the usual Wiki route … Big, big, big inspiration , not just the locks, but the political direction and work in ‘agri-culture’ :

Anyway, here is the pic that was in the papers back when he first got elected to parliament:

And here is a more recent pic:

Nah Sister, that pic was floating around in the newspapers in 2000. He is looking good 43, for sure; reckon he lives a healthy lifestyle though. Also, the Brother has 'Khoi' blood in his veins and I can tell you that Khoi people are built to last :)

    Jah Guide!

Nice to see a locked politician, I'm really worried about how long I can keep my locks for. Gives me a little bit of hope.

Damn Ssier, this is the third lot I'm growing and all I can say is once you have had locks, there will always be a part of you that wants them again. But I reckon this time around I won't be cutting, it looks like, by the Grace Of Jah, I'm finally reaching a place in life where it won't be an issue again.

This is how I feel. I know it's only hair at the end of the day. But it feels right. I'm severely worried about employers and I don't know why. I've never faced discrimination with my hair yet. But I'm worried I'll have to cut as there's gonna be far too much damage to have long hair and I look like a butch girl with short hair.

No doubt it's heavy trying to merge 'growing locks and securing employment' in a sustainable way. In all honesty, previous years, for me, have been incredibly frustrating at the best of times ... call it the luck of the draw, some pull off a 'locks-friendly' life at a young age, other have to work at it for longer.

Hmmm ... the discrimination thing ... craziness, having to work in jobs where locks are 'outlawed' - to save money over time - to study further - to secure a lifestyle in which having locks is conducive

But for sure, it can end up being hectic ... on the one hand it's just hair, but on the other hand it's way more than that.

    One Love!

I have a few cards up my sleeves I can pull, plus I'm planning to work in the voluntary sector/race relations, they are much more liberal than regular employers :] ONE LOVE DON!

Saving dreadheads from cutting everywhere :D

There's a swanky hotel in my city, they banned a dreadlocked Equal Opportunities Officer from staying there after her kids saved up for a room after she recovered froman illness. She got some serious public backing though.

OMG that is discusting. "Bredbury Hall rules prevent anyone of ''unconventional appearance'' going into the hotel, including people with tattoos, dreadlocks, shaven heads, facial jewellery or wearing denim. Men with earrings are also barred."

    Da fuck?

I'd go in covered in tattoos and pierced till my face fell off with a laywer or something... That surely can't be legal..

People like that make me sick. Its cool the other hotel were so kind

probably better off. sounds like a pretty crappy place to stay anyways if they refuse service to "different" people :p

They do reserve the right to refuse service to any one.
