    Traditional Blessing and Healing Chant

Just as the soft rains fill the streams,
pour into the rivers, and join together in the oceans,
so may the power of every moment of your goodness
flow forth to awaken and heal all beings--
those here now, those gone before, those yet to come.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
may your heart's wishes be soon fulfilled
as completely shining as the bright full moon,
as magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
may all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.
May you enjoy fulfillment and long life.

For all in whose heart dwells respect,
who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way,
may your life prosper in the four blessings
of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.

Prayer for Peace, Love, and Happiness

Let me be loved, let me be happy, let me be peaceful.
Let my friends be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let my perceived enemies be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let all beings be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let the whole world experience these things.

    - Deepak Chopra

    It matters not
    who you love,
    where you love,
    why you love,
    when you love,
    or how you love,
    It matters only
    that You love.

    ~ John Lennon

    The Mother (Mira Alfassa)
    From - Conversations 1930-31

    Stepping back

Most of you live on the surface of your being, exposed to the touch of external influences. You live almost projected, as it were, outside your own body, and when you meet some unpleasant being similarly projected you get upset.

The whole trouble arises out of your not being accustomed to stepping back.

You must always step back into yourself - learn to go deep within - step back and you will be safe. Do not lend yourself to the superficial forces which move in the outside world. Even if you are in a hurry to do something, step back for a while and you will discover to your surprise how much sooner and with what greater success your work can be done.

If someone is angry with you, do not be caught in his vibrations but simply step back and his anger, finding no support or response, will vanish.

Always keep your peace, resist all temptation to lose it. Never decide anything without stepping back, never speak a word without stepping back, never throw yourself into action without stepping back.

All that belongs to the ordinary world is impermanent and fugitive, so there is nothing in it worth getting upset about. What is lasting, eternal, immortal and infinite - that indeed is worth having, worth conquering, worth possessing. It is Divine Light, Divine Love, Divine Life - it is also Supreme Peace, Perfect Joy and All-Mastery upon earth with the Complete Manifestation as the crowning.

When you get the sense of the relativity of things, then whatever happens you can step back and look; you can remain quiet and call on the Divine Force and wait for an answer. Then you will know exactly what to do.

Remember, therefore, that you cannot receive the answer before you are very peaceful. Practise that inner peace, make at least a small beginning and go on in your practice until it becomes a habit with you.

After many births the wise seek refuge in me, seeing me everywhere and in everything. Such great souls are very rare. There are others whose discrimination is misled by many desires. Following their own nature, they worship lower gods, practicing various rites.

To understand the veracity of this saying, think of this: Is it easier (on your heart) to treat a child negligently or to treat it with love?

    A Speck of Dust

I know, I am a speck of dust.
Yet the Mother of the Universe
    Eternally stays with me.
    She is my Eternal Companion.
    She is my only Consolation.
On the one hand, I am the poorest of all.
On the other hand, I am the child of light
Of the Mother of the Universe.
    May I remain unperturbed
In all my happiness and sorrows.

All knowledge acquired through the five senses is worthless
To those without knowledge of truth.

In everything of every kind whatsoever,
Wisdom perceives Truth in that thing.

Those who find Divine Truth in this world
Follow a path which never comes back to this world.

Those who think with certitude and ponder well that which is,
Need never think of being born again.

    -Tirukkural 36:354-357

"Ordinary love is selfish, darkly rooted in desires and satisfactions," [Sri Yukteswar said]. "Divine love is without condition, without boundary, without change. The flux of the human heart is gone forever at the transfixing touch of pure love."- Paramahansa Yogananda

"Many human beings say "I love you" one day and reject you the next. That is not love. One whose heart is filled with the love of God cannot willfully hurt anyone. When you love God without reservation, He fills your heart with His unconditional love for all. That love no human tongue can describe....The ordinary man is incapable of loving others in this way. Self-centered in the consciousness of "I, me, and mine," he has not yet discovered the omnipresent God who resides in him and in all other beings."- Paramahansa Yogananda

A superior being does not render evil for evil. Never harm the wicked or the good or even criminals meeting death. A noble soul is always compassionate, even toward those who enjoy injuring others or who are actually committing cruel deeds--for who is without fault?

Prayer to Saint Therese of Lisieaux

    Mystical Therese -
    you embodied integration,
in your ability to find the Holy
    in the midst of life.
    God did not just appear
    at the moments of prayer,
but was revealed in the gentle movements
    of your 'daily occupations'.

So often we separate and fragment
the Divine light in our lives,
missing the shimmering presence of God -
    in the flowers and stars,
    in our work and play,
    in our friends and families.

    Awaken the mystic within me.
    Enlighten my heart
    that I may recognize
    the Sacred Presence...
    within and around me.
    guiding and inspiring me
    every moment of my life.

"As rivers lose their private name and form
When they reach the sea, so that people speak
Of the sea alone, so all these sixteen
Forms disappear when the Self is realized.
Then there is no more name and form for us,
    And we attain immortality."

    -Prashna Upanishad

    Fish On The Sand
    George Harrison

I know you're in the sun
    I know you're close to ev'ryone
At times it's like you don't have a hold on me

I see you in the love
I see you in the moon above
But I want to know that you're not lost inside of me

    You know I need you
    You know I love you
    If I'm not with you
I'm not so much of a man
I'm like a fish on the sand

You call me in the night (you call me in the night)
    And hide behind the daylight
You're blowing like a wind, you don't let me see

You know I feel a pain (you know I feel a pain)
I'm tired of playing games with you
Though there's nothing else I want that would set me free

    You know I love you
    You know I need you
If I can't be with you
I'm not so much of a man
I'm a fish on the sand

No use to no one else, they've all dried up
Watching all our lives go by
I can't believe you'd want to see me crying

I hold you in my heart (hold you in my heart)
I know that you're a part of me
But it's a must to know that you love me too

I look you in the eye (look you in the eye)
    You're swimming by my teardrops
But I want to know for sure that you'll let me see

    You know I want you
    You know I need you
    If I'm not with you
I'm not so much of a man
I'm like a fish on the sand

    You know I need you
    You know I love you
    If I'm not with you
I'm not so much of a man
I'm a fish on the sand

Not so much of a man
More a fish on the sand

    ---

    Happy Birthday George Harrison. :)
