Well the technical answer is yes, it is condemned by I think all major churches (probably most minor ones as well). However, I do not personally believe so since I'm more atheist than anything.

    In the words of Satan:

The dro grows from my footsteps
I'm the one that they follow
I am the one that they march with
    Through the back-alleys
    And the black markets
    The Oval office
And the crack houses and apartments
Through the mazes of the queens
    The pages of the sages
And the chambers of the kings
Through the veins of the fiends
    The paper-chaser's pager
Yo, I'm famous on the scene
    One of the oldest
    Most ancient of all things
I speak every single language on the planet
    Know what I mean?
    I am the American dream
    The rape of Africa
    The undying machine
    The overpriced medicine
    The murderous regime
    The tough guy's front
And the one behind the scenes
I am the blood of this city
    It's gas, water, and electricity
    I'm it's gym and it's math and it's history
    The gunshots in the class
And you can't pass if you're missing, G
I taught them better than that
I taught them to aim for the head
And hope they never come back
I'm glad your daddy's gone baby
I hope he never comes back
I hope he's with your mother
    With my hustlers
    High in my trap
I hope you die in this trash
I can't help that all you hear when you're crying is laughs
I'm sure somebody'll find you tied in this trash
    Behind the hospital
    Little baby crack addicts had
And maybe you can grow up to be a stripper
    A welfare recieving protituting gold-digger
You can watch on TV how they should properly depict ya
The rivers shall flow with liquors
Quench your thirst on my elixers
I am the safe haven for the rebel runaway
    And the resister
    The trusted misleader
    The number 1 defender
From a thrown of their bones, I rule
    These fools are my fuel
    So I make them cool
Baptise them in the water from Scarface's pool
And feed them from the table that held the Corleones' food
If you die tell them that you played my game
I hope your bullet holes become mouths to say my name.

Hi young dude, and I was offended, too, by all that unnessary crap about God.
I am a devout believer, and I have been convicted that weed is Not a sin - particularly if you injest (as in eating) it. I have been tokin for 30+ years, but I do not do other "stuff". Stand up for what you believe in, and: using weed and being a Christian are not mutually exclusive.
    Check out Genesis 1: 29,30
"And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;to you it shall be as meat...wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so."
I have wondered why those verses would even be In the Bible, if not to assure us that marijuana is fine with Him.

You guys can be offended all you want. Do Christians worry about offending anyone when they try to force their beliefs on others? Nope. God's overly-righteous ass can go to hell, for all I give a fuck:D

LOL, Dude. Way to be antireligious. Like I said before I believe in God and I trust that weed is a gift and not a curse. Just enjoy and don't spread the hate. Happy hunting all.

As long as it is natural - and not abused, no I don't think it's a sin. I think things like peyote and mescaline and Certain mushrooms are made to aid one on a spiritual journey, such as the vision quests of Native Americans.

As far as sin goes - I believe God is a lot more concerned about we treat our fellow humans, how our true heart is, much more than if we smoke weed or eat it. The bible is even all for drinking a bit of red wine - that was Jesus's First Miracle - turning the water into wine for a wedding party! And it was described as quite good wine - meaning, to me, that it would give quite a buzz. The key is moderation. That is a concept - moderation - few people seem to get.

    I appreciate you asking.

How about if we inject heroin, smoke crack, eat dozens of pills, and drink bottles of liquor, but are still kind-hearted, treat people right, and have genuinely good intentions? Moderation isn't always necessary, so long as you take the proper precautions and know what you're doing. Moderation is recommended, but not necessary.

my response, tongue in cheek as it was, was meant to illustrate something.

Lighten up. To someone, somewhere, something's a sin. My commenting that god smoked weed would be called a sin by quite a few, but I think people seem to forget that god has a grand sense of humor, and the evidence is all around us in the sheer absurdity of some of life's aspects.

Besides, if god is everywhere, and in everything, then god is just as present in a bud or a mushroom as he is in the sacrament, or the first breath of dawn, or a lover's touch.

The only real sin, I believe, is distancing yourself from this communion with god by abuse of these things, by forgetting the divine in all things, by forgetting that a cross is no more holy than the mud from which we were presumably made, by forgetting that our first temples were caves and arching tree-vaults over grassy clearings.

All nature is god's creation. How then, would weed be a sin? Instead, the misuse of it would be the greater.

but what do I know? I'm not even christian.

God created opium poppies and the coca plant, so he is indirectly responsible for heroin and crack:D

Shit, raw opium was responsible for almost destroying China, so we can thank god for that, as well:D
