How am I a sucker? Because I was born in a certain country that contrasts anothers opinion of what a "civilization" should be? As Socrates once said, "I consider myself a citizen of the world."
 So is that why in many American cities the leading cause of death of young black men is being murdered by other young black men?
it's a sad world that you live in then. love is a reality as well. but that doesn't mean that some people actually do understand the nature of love. although, i would not totally agree that it is not an outcome or destination, and requires no will. love is manifest through action, out of the goodness of one's heart, an active conscious act of exerting one's will onto the enviroment around them. love brings about real results, and will bring you to a real destination. it is the act of forgiving, selfless service, and giving. as well as supporting others without regard for self. love is real not fade away.
I was of course referring to the concept of 'universal love' and not individual displays of love and affection BTW: In sixth century china during plague and famine times; children were regularly purchased as a consumable in the market place ..... I’m sure their parents loved them equally as much Hotwater
Let us not forget the role the media plays in all these examples; Young black men and women are CONSTANTLY shown through the media extremely poor examples of what one should be or strive for. And then they are berated by more media for being "drug dealers, criminals, thugs, etc." This makes it extremely difficult for decent black people to create a serious image, as well as it creates a trend of youth wanting to emulate musicians who are solely pretending to live a thug life and what not, and never having an example of what can be possible for black people in the 21st century. Other media, mostly the music of black musicians is long repeated about all the issues surrounding slavery. Although it is fine to maintain ones trials for the sake of background, by constantly reminding people of how white people went wrong and did bad things creates a cycle of keeping those feelings of hostility in the air. Say someone fucks up a budget at work and almost loses their job, are they going to tape that budget to their front door so they have to look at it everyday? Youth today have a hard time (mostly black youth) differentiating between the way things are now, and the way things were up until 40 years ago. When they are constantly reminded through the media that they were at one point suppressed, they generate feelings of hate and distaste, and then they tend to favour those unfavourable role models who teach them they can be "self made...deal drugs." This furthers the stereotype and thus it continues to stand.
caca del toro! Love is not an act, it is a state of being. Love then is what you are. Loving acts are a symptom of a loving state of being, a natural result requiring no effort. Try to comprehend, love is without condition and is therefore beyond what can be taught.
Yes, but those good deeds and what not that people do are simply emulating what love is. Use the example of one who goes to church on Sunday, all week they may do bad things, sin, cheat on their spouse maybe, etc. Then come Sunday they go to church, relieve their conscience, and feel better about themselves. Are they a loving person? One can emulate love by doing good things, but those things and feelings themselves are not love. They are an image of it, a print.
I'd also like to point out that the OP wrote, "Is it acceptable..." This is a rather difficult thing to argue without first defining what standard of acceptable we are using, who deems what is acceptable, and from what point of view is the acceptability supposed to be viewed. To an older black person it may be acceptable, to a young white person it may not be. It's kind of like asking, "Is it bad if I'm attracted to obese women?" By whose or what standard are we defining bad?
i don't think that a person that goes to church once a week to relieve their conscience is living a life of love at all. love is a constant act, never ceasing. you can't just love sometimes, and think it's ok. you shouldn't really even love to relieve your conscience, but because it is your will to do so. you should love because you want to. there is a difference between emulating love, and loving from the depths of your heart. hitting rock bottom isn't a weekend retreat.
I'm sorry if you have personally experienced any racially motivated discrimination, but your issue is not with me simply because I am a man of a light skin tone.
and you know who makes the best barbeque? fat white men and fat black men. so...we can pretty much all agree that fat people rock. even if they're cooking children.
