I have a felony drug charge because I sold E yeaaars back to like six friends and they got me on quantity and I can't find a good job even with a degree. Yet I know sex offenders that seem to be able to get better jobs because the government is feeding and backing them. (sidenote this was a non violent offense)

That is sad.

I have heard many stories and statistics also about rapist, murderers and other violent offenders getting outta jail in MUCH shorter times then people that have sold or even just possesed and done drugs... no victim no crime in my mind... its sickening.

I see the world through the "healthy" and "unhealthy" lens. I view things as "harmful" or "beneficial".

"Evil" is just a religious definition of "harmful".

People engage in activities because they derive some sort of satisfaction of it. They do things to fulfill needs and desires.

Some desires are harmful (pedophilia is one of them). These desires are unhealthy.

The key is to find out why people do what they do and act accordingly.

Sooner or later we'll discover there is no Devil to blame things on and that we must bear the burden of responsibility for what we've done--each of us.

This includes how we deal with each other. Sick people need help.

Get him some help SOMEWHERE or call the police or kill him?

Lets forget the THOUGHT thing. Violent criminals are not getting sufficient penalties. Whats to deter someone carrying out violent thought? You get good food and tv in prison. It's more like the Holiday Inn. Do you really think pedos would entertain their THOUGHTS if they knew they were going to be put in a Turkish prison?

 

Violent acts to violent criminals breeds more violent acts and then more violent acts to act as a "deterrent" to violent acts.

Instead of our lawmakers "Getting Tough" all the time, why don't they "GET SMART" for once.

I know what I did was soooo non violent (no victim, no crime in mind and there was no victim).... and I havent even done that drug in four years. Anyways it was so long ago that Im thinking I could get it expunged but I know nothing about that.

Cognitive behavioral therapy and even chemical therapy are useful, yes, but first and foremost we need to create a society that doesn't lie to itself about sex and drugs.

A system which combines RATIONAL THOUGHT, COMPASSION, and RESTITUTIVE JUSTICE (not retribution and revenge "justice") will be created when we all stop thinking like medieval inquisitors.
