    Pre-emptive Post:

There are no Vulcans. That is just a fictional creation of Gene Roddenberry for an old TV science fiction show.

It has nothing to do with logic or eating meat - even tho the fictional Vulcans were implied to be vegetarians in later canon.

I don't see any "facts" here... actually.
The only thing I see here, is that you're still smug.

You could at least explain yourself. Oh no that would be too hard.

This is pointless. I make my logical arguments and you do nothing but make personal attacks.

Not hard, just don't want to or feel the need to.

You're not the kind of person I like to have discussions with because there is clearly not an inch of space in your mind to spare, for other opinions and perspectives. Yours is obviously the only one, and the only one that matters.

A discussion with you isn't productive or enlightening so I'm just annoyed and done with it. :cheers2:

you want to talk about personal attacks... I believe you're the one who came into the animal advocates forum, to say that you don't think animals hold much or any value...

I believe between the two of us you were the first to name-call and say that we were all "smug self-satisfied bleeding heart types" or something to that affect.

please, get over yourself. again, :cheers2:

I make personal attacks AND logical arguements. You just whine and cry and make attacks. Who has more value here?

    I don't support PETA, and I don't kill bugs.
    There's my simple reply. n___n

I believe PETA essentially means well but, like you said, they can be (and usually are) hypocritical and very radical, which often harms their cause more than helps it.

Oh okay I get it. You made some sort of Star Trek joke. I've never seen star trek. Congratulations on your use of highly esoteric humour and simultaneous attitude of derision to those who don't get it. That's quite the double-whammy.

Yes it is ok if you can use the corpse for food or warmth. I do my best not to kill insects, but that seems like a personal decision, insect aren't going to become extinct from one or even thousands being smashed. If I could allow a hunter to go demolish insects by the thousands instead of one or two Gorillas I would, but would they get off on it? Seems if you got the fetish then you got it and there aint shit I can do to prevent it.

Prove that animals, or anything for that matter has inherent and non subjective value. A positive statement must have a logical or empirical justification. I could for example say that it was everyone's duty to give me all of their money. But would I have made a true statement? Where would my justification for such a claim be?

Right now you're begging the question and your claim is unfounded. Of course it's impossible for you to prove that the lives of animals have inherent value so I'll let you prove to me the normative statement "The world would be better if animal's lives had the same value as people's"

    Go!

Looks guys telling me that animals' lives have should have as much value as mine is silly and pointless. You have no justification for it, you're basically saying "This is how it is because I say so" and leaving it at that, which is very sad.

Not to mention the even more useless statement "animals' lives DO have as much value as mine" in an objective sense like you're some sort of god or authority figure. You're making me cry that some people actually think this way.
