Yeah, but with the metabolites from that its a toxic chem all around for your brain. That's not including post synaptic receptor down regulation or loss thereof. So the chem itself can cause "alterations" to the brain, but there is other damage caused too.

But yeah, MDMA and coke will cause too much dopamine and will cause some cell damage, without a doubt. It's extensiveness is only limited to the persons abuse.

Yeah I smoked all day from wake-up to sleep every day for 4 years. I decided to quit and have not smoked for a year now. I have a great long term memory. I can remember stuff from when I was 6 years old very clearly.

I'd have to say my brain felt like it worked a lot better before I smoked all that weed. like it did not affects my intelligence or anything like that it's just I feel zoned out all the time. Kinda like I still have a lingering high that has never gone away. like I don't know I'll be sitting around and randomly my perceptions will change and like objects I am looking around at seem different.

Like I said I have good memory and none of this happened before I smoked so it has to be the trees. Sometimes I think I am going to be perma stoned or something and this stony feeling is never gonna go away.

So I think psychedelics do the same thing just in a different more powerful way. So no your not tripping yourself retarded, your just simply altering the way your brain works.

also if you have to many bad trips you can actually create a mental illness for yourself that you never had.

I agree with your post but.. I'm going to have to say that this is not true.

If you have a history of mental illness, but can get conditions to come forward that may not have been prevalent otherwise, but I don't agree with that you can simply just "create" such a disease in the brain with a few bad trips. :eggnog:

I think people can snap due to stress without the whole pre-existing condition. And what exactly are these 'precursors' to insanity that drugs can bring out in those who already have them? Is there a chemical formula wired in the brain that just gives people the option to loose their noodle? Everyone has that... it's just a question of how much can it take before it goes bannanas.

Can you show me some before and after slides?

    Dissociatives are their own thing.

Regarding psychedelics - only temporarily. Or perhaps the better answer is, "only if retarded is what is at your core."
