now if it had been something OTHER than kitty litter.. i most likely wouldn't have taken it.. or maybe even taken it back inside the store and told them i found it..

they probably would have said.. "and? keep it"

 

Store products that are restockable usually get held for 3-7 days and then resold if nobody comes back to say they forgot it in the parking lot.

 

I doubt your tailless cat will feel any guilt as it shits on the found kitty litter, enjoy.

I would have kept it too; to my way of thinking, the person who bought it must not have wanted it too much to begin with, or they wouldn't have left it in a cart....
