I believe nirvana comes from realising that the distinction between the self and the universe is an illusion, uniting the individual consciousness with the ultimate consciousness, and I think I have realised this at my most enlightened. So more of a Hindu approach for me.

instant enlightenment can happen without any formal meditation, though perhaps it also depends on how you define meditation. if you're already enlightened in the first place then no effort required...

nirvana requires nothing other than you remembering where you come from

meditation is just putting your mind in a state that will force it to start revealing to itself its hidden memories

but you can remember while walking, doing school work, fucking, eating... whatever

more important than meditation, or any set 'ritual' I believe is the simple ability to pay attention, VERY close attention, that tree sitting outside could remind you, even this computer monitor could remind you if you are paying close enough attention

    Explain please.

If Nirvana requires such and such, having said it does should not be difficult to explain.

they always want some kind of holy grail at the end of the rainbow, don't they?

well i guess i'm no better. it's still desire though, isn't it?
which isn't "evil". just self defeating.
yah, i've still got an ego that wants to think its smart or wise too.
(and another something that knows the ego is "full of it" too)
(that aren't really separate somethings, because they're still in the same place)
