    "Is nudist an identity?"
Simply asked, simply said: Yes, as well as this opens the problem with »identity«.
Extensive replied: No, because its a »feeling«.

The further expansion: It depends on the situation. Naked, because others should see your naked? Naked, because you don't care how others feel about it? Naked, without bothering others? Naked, because all you care about is pleasing yourself by being naked? Naked, in order to please others? Naked, because sugness? Naked, without only for yourself or others and without disturbing others and the nature, in the sense of becoming one with nature.

I am a nudist, because I like being naked and that's it for me, nothing more, nothing less.

Nudity is different for everyone. Some people it is a hobby other a religion a way of life an addiction it is everything anything and also nothing. What you want to make it or call it go for it and enjoy it.

No. If you weren’t a nudist yesterday, but became one today, your identity did not change at all. Conversely, if you were a nudist up until yesterday, but are not from today forward, your identity is the same before and after. Your identity remains unchanged.

For nudism to be part of your identity I would think you would have to be public about. A person can enjoy nudity in a variety of private ways, but to have nudism as an identity I believe you have to be open and public about your nudity. Now, that doesn’t mean you are walking down the street nude; but people know you go to nudist resorts and beaches and perhaps your back yard is nude friendly and people know you enjoy backyard nudity. Nudism is not a private secret activity if you identify as a nudist.
I enjoy being nude often, but I am not open about it. So I don’t identify as a nudist though I enjoy being nude often. Perhaps tomorrow I will hike nude or at least barefoot. Maybe both
