is quiting better or being fired?

quitting is better for the ego
getting fired is better (usually) for collecting unemployment

in more rarified/refined circles, it is s.o.p. to have a formal, politely, if pointedly, worded letter of resignation always handy.

for the individual, r.i.f.t.s are the best case scenario (reduction in force terminations), though worst for society as a whole, as they mean one less job OPENING any longer exists.
