i should add that in no way would the people providing me with food see this as a quid pro quo situation they would in fact be angry that i was not charging the other 'agencies' for my services who in their turn see the whole setup as an object of curiosity, amusement, and occasionally, admiration to be fair, the agencies getting the free work are harder-pressed for funding than the food people - it's a sort of intergovernmental trickle down . . .
i'm a socialist [or whatever]; i think economics in the us is totally fucked all i'm trying to do is navigate a path for myself that i'm comfortable with, from within the belly of the beast note that the argument against this might be that i should have competed for those services and been compensated for them and gotten off the stamps i am not competitive; and certainly not against the network of inbred local business owners who fairly routinely break conflict of interest laws around here even if i were to win one or two the amounts i'd bid would be low enough to not rise above the poverty line - i do not understand money, i do not feel comfortable with money, i do not like money [that's just me]
no 75 years of re-education did nothing in russia to be fair, it was badly implemented and socialism works poorly in a vacuum the soviet union's global position being somewhat akin to my local position be your own socialist, that's the only advice i can give
Whose paying for it you ask. You do. I take a minuscule fraction of a penny from 20 million people. I take it to the store and buy the vegetables, handing the money straight BACK to the people I got it from. the sad thing is, billions of people WISH they could live like that. it would be a luxury to them
We all tend to specialize. There aren't that many entrepreneurs, not that many people who can go it alone. If you are one of those creative types, if you are one of those vision people, just a good-hearted guy who wants to help his fellow man that is commendable. The only thing wrong is that you are not part of a team. Find a cause or two you believe in and be a part of it. Otherwise, the bullies are still gonna find you as you walk alone to school. They are gonna punch you in the gut and steal your lunch money every day.
Nothing testifies to this statement like Odon trying to guilt trip me about that 0.00000001 of a cent that I owe him. Maybe I should mention that Odon probably drove past me the other day, bellowing carbon monoxide in my face, on his way to the petrol station where he can donate to the the annihilation-of-the-gulf-of-Mexico-coast-line fund.
Is socialism possible in the US? I think so, but I don't think I'd vote for it. Will the majority of the nation ever be able to rise above its greedy, capitalistic nature? Yes. There is always someone willing to do something unscrupulous for capitalistic gain, and it seems like laws can be made to control, regulate, or tax that sort of thing, making it less profitable. Do you think that greed is inherent in people? No, but I think that in the context of capitalism competition creates greed and that's when you see people/companies doing things that are greedy. That's one thing that seems cool about socialism. Do you think we'll ever be able to truly escape such a self-destructive cycle? Yes, but it will/would take laws about advertising etiquette.
An enk Tax? If you can find 20 million different people to give you a minuscule fraction of a penny and buy veg' etc from those same people for a minuscule fraction of a penny...for life. Please let me know who they are. The last time I checked "socialism" wasn't about a majority paying for the upkeep of a minority. How do you think I will make money to pay for you do fuck all for the rest of your life? So you know 20 million that sell all the things you need, including rent etc (not just food)...and they will give you these things - individually - for a fractrion of a penny? This isn't socialism it's lazy selfishness. . I was just curious. Jeez
