Is there anything you've run into from going barefoot?

As a kid I had warts for a period of time... but they probably derived from the comunity pool. Then one time, I was barefeet, I ran into a broken part of a little wall, and well... broke my lil toe :-(. But that all. Glass splinters usuallydon't do a lot. Just hurt, but no big bleeding or anything.

I have to add to my earlier posted reply. Just since this thread has been in existence, and since my reply, I got a quince thorn stuck way into the arch of my left foot on my front lawn. Quinces, for those who don't know, have long thorns like the related hawthorn group of woody plants. Anyway, I pulled it out, right on the spot, but it was a closed pucture wound, and it's bugged me all week. I have great high arches, which is where the puncture is, but any time I step on anything center on---which is often! it's pressure on the small swollen spot. Other than that, I can walk anywhere without feeling it.

Since I do a lot of pruning for a living, and since I also do it for us in our own yard, it's my own fault for not cleaning up after myself better than this. The grass grew right over the forgotten thorny twig, keeping it hidden for several weeks until my left foot found it. Another soaking, another prodding with a sterilized pin, and I hope to get relief. Tomorrow.

Dunno if this counts but I get stopped and asked for directions a lot more when barefoot. I suppose people just assume that I must be local and can't be very far away from my house.

At least you were barefooted, you can easily wash it off your feet and between your toes. Try getting doggie poo out of those crevices that are underneath the soles of your shoes!

I stepped in dog poo today....argh. I had been barefoot, but one of my kittens was stuck in a tree, and the ground around the tree was so thorny...I went inside for my knock off berkies, and then I stepped in the poo on the way back to the tree. You're right,Barefoot Boy,I could have washed it off my feet much easier, than scrubbing it out of those little bowtie looking soles on sandals.

Maybe it's because you're happier while barefoot...it shows through your demeanor and makes you seem more approachable. Maybe...

Could well be that. It might also be that big heavy shoes often makie a person seem more intimidating, well to me, anyway.
