Is there life after death?

a vision is different to a memory... this was a memory... i think i was doing housework or something like that, and just thinking mundane things when i remembered the two children crying and was remembering how surprised i was that i didn't feel a need to comfort them, like my present children... then realised i was looking at them from above and that this was not a memory from this lifetime....

 

hey merryJ... religion doesn't make any sense to you any more, and that's not a bad thing... just because religion doesn't hold any answers for you, does not mean that there is no true love, no true meaning, no lessons learned, no soul!!! you will find your answers... just look within... ask for guidance, and i am sure, as it is my experience, that the divinity that you are a part of (as i believe we all are) will provide you with your answers eventually.....

don't give up... believe in yourself... yes, our physical bodies are chemical reactions, but i am certain that we are more than physical alone. it is always difficult when you lose faith in anything, but that does not mean that you will not find faith in something else...

i haven't read the contents of your link yet, but if it is to do with life after death, and you find it interesting, what faith is it that you speak of having lost?

 

You can get it back if you choose to. But internally you're arguing for your right to be angry, and so far that part of you is winning.

Maybe you need to go through an angry period. I've been there.

However I must argue with you when you reduce us all to chemical reactions. Yes, that's one way to look at it, but...

If we're merely chemical reactions, then how can I have telepathic communications with other people? I do, you see.

I know about chemicals, I have a degree in biochemistry. I also have training in the scientific method, and I know how to create and test hypotheses. And I have applied this knowledge and training to my own experiences. And I tell you: I have telepathic communications.

So where does that leave your "just chemical reactions" statement?

 

the earth could end any minute ... oh , anxiety , oblivion .

if total oblivion would ever happen ? i think all of life would have felt this future and been hopeless from the beginning . even so , the nuclear weapon mass-anihilation situation is dire and sure worthy of smoking some pot about . we are each responsible to it and there is no escaping what must be done . what must be done ? getting stoned is just fine . it's peaceful and i'd say a power of spirit is our neccessity .

 

Having read this thread with interest I find myself drawn to sharing some thoughts. First in my personal forum there is a post titled, I am No More. This speaks of both sides of our awareness. When we know who we are, we will not fear where we are.

I believe we are Spirits having a human experience , with consequences, so we might grow beyond what we know. We are not humans trying to be Spirit On the other side in Spirit we do not have consequences, we have awareness that crys out for understanding of what we know. To move beyond this knowing we choose to move through the Akashic records setting up experiences, and lessons so we might face our self, and grow greater depth, and knowings.

Thus we choose a life that will offer us these understandings in the direction we are choosing to go. This flesh made shell, if you will, is much like a garment hanging in a closet that we wear for a time. When we lay down this shell, or garment we again merge into the light of awareness, and Spirit with all that we have learned, and began to understand.

Our greatest desire is to know what Love means. There is many faces to love, and each will show us a reflection of who, and what we are choosing to become in this life class we are taking.

When we cross from this world we need not fear. When a child is born on this side they leave the other world behind. When we die in this world we return to the world we came from.

Past lives retain a memory, and an awareness energy that awakens us to the wonder of who we are. The only promise we have is that change will be our constant guide, and hope.


In this we find as much as a belief may, or may not be true, our faith will need to leave us at times, so we might grow an even greater faith where trust , and truth are ever changing places for deeper understandings.

Fear is an opportunity that can teach us how to stretch, and reach for that within us that we still are not sure of, or fully understand.

Within our breath we are both our comings, and goings as we learn to open to an even greater vulnerability that will help us know how to be our own creations that will show us how to be whole, and one as we embrace the essence of our eternal connections to the all.

 

a friend of mine , Cookie , was visited by six psychics who one by one came to him with the same message of a future deathly horror . he's a nervous guy anyway and was even-more-so disturbed and fidgety when he confided in me .

this fore-told disaster event was given a specific time period - in six weeks (from the telling and -not recently - several years ago now) . otherwise i don't know what exactly was told to him . he related to me a mental visage of a nuclear holocaust in the usa and that he was told by each of the six psychics that it would happen soon .

? i still wonder if they were six sexy psychics

i could only give Cookie a bit of friendly , easy comfort about it . he's always got a normalcy of plenty to worry about and this new worry was so weirdly too extreme in that moment thinking he and everybody he knew was going to burn and die. the next i talked to him was a year later - and so i said hey, Cookie , you remember that thing about the disaster prediction . well , he just barely did .

you remember the time that this thing was supposed to happen ? oh , ya , it was coming back to him and said ya he could recall . what happened at that time , cookie , cuz some major thing did happen ?

i don't know , what ?

Cookie , it was Hurricane Katrina .

what about the explosion i saw ?

i spose the American psyche exploded .

Fear of the unknown. Such a powerful tool. I somtimes envy people that have passed - to see if there really is life after death.

Wait until your turn. Paitence is key - stop trying to jump the gun and finish your first life.

Have a good life - if there is nothing after death? Ahwel. Good life, cant complain. If there is...BONUS.

To tikoo and to Luketrials: Of course what is is, and what will come is what will come. But personally, if I had my druthers, if I end up in some kind of "heaven," it would be nice if I could remember all the hell I went through to get there so I'd appreciate it more. And who knows? Seems like Old Crone is saying I will remember, eventually, in some manner or other.

 

a kind story-quilter can stitch and stitch you warm and easy , don't worry , and have some tea too . stories can make family strong , remembering everything . a story of eternal life only has to be good enough for that .

Why is this question asked? If there is no answer then there is no question. I hate these questions so much, i used to love thinking about it but the more you think about it the more pointless you realize thinking about it really is. The only point it has is that you have thought about it so you don't have to think about it again which is where i'm at now.

 

Life is an illusion. We can't die. We never lived.

I disagree. Thats the only thing that i know for sure is 100 % true is that I'm alive and its my life.

 

It is for sure 100 % true that you are a living biological organism but you have no self and you own nothing. There is no one to die.

Nope. Your body and brain are machines that can function perfectly well without there being any inner you, or spirit or soul, to direct them. You just don't want to give up the illusion of control because it would freak you out too much.

 

If I wasn't in the body, than there would be no other "soul" to come take my place. If I am directing EVERY little movement that my body does, than that means i am the only one and will remain the only one to use this body.
