This may sound strange, but my best friend is a redneck. The complete opposite of a hippie, like myself. I don't get how we're best friends but we just are. I guess we just avoid talking about politics and religion.
I dont have a single best friend anymore, or at least I dont see him much these days...so my closest friends: 1. Buddhist, beat poet, most spiritual person I know, definitely a hippie.. 2. doesnt look/act/seem like a hippie and he's actually fairly antisocial in the past few years, but with me he's a hippie and I think under all of it, he really is...he's a deep and beautiful person with all the right ideas despite his crazy personality. 3. dont know how to describe her but she's different and just perfectly eccentric and cool, and I suppose you could call her a hippie... 4. He's a great musician and an intellectual...into politics and philosophy and just really interesting. He likes to be ironic, but never completely. You wouldnt generally call strong Christians hippies, but his view about religion is anything but conservative. Yeah, he'd be a hippie. My friends are all really different, but they're all liberal, into the arts and with the right philosophies. They also get high on occasion and listen to some "hippie music." You could probably call them hippies, even if they dont appear that way.
No, and neither am I. We're both stoners, leftists, and archaeology students. We share a love for music, derogatory humour and good take-away food. We rule.
Yep, she most definitely is.. none of my other friends are though haha, although they're all fairly left-wing like me, they all despise Gordon Brown and the neoliberalisms of New Labour.
