On ABC's (NY) Eyewitness News, one of their reporters, Josh Einenger, has been on the ground in Tel Aviv, doing outstanding live reports for the past several days, filling us in on so many happenings.

Earlier in the day, he and his news crew, in the middle of a report, had to cut the report and hed for the nearest shelter, as sirens began to wail.

Thankfully, not long afterwards, he and his crew were back out on the roof of their hotel, and there had been no damage nor injuries.

He made a very profound comment on how, for many decades, air raid alerts such as this are far too commonplace in the Middle East, and, in fact, have been going on for many, many years now, in some areas.

Thanks, Josh, for your excellent "on the scene" coverage thus far.

Now, a high level alert has been issued to Americans traveling abroad, due to an increased possibility of terrorist attacks and reprisals.

And we call ourselves "CIVILIZED" men?

We are blasting ourselves right back to the Stone Age....................

In President Biden's speech some moments ago, the following really struck a chord within me:

".......here in the Unites States, we must rise above both anti-Semitism and Islamphobia......"

Most certainly, I cannot agree more.

Hatred.....of ANY kind.......is a form of cancer......it is an insidious, deadly disease that destroys all in its path, feeding upon ignorance, the need to inflict pain on others, and to undermine all semblence of tolerance and brotherhood.

But, sadly, today, there is simply too much hatred, in all sectors of life.

We now live in a deranged, upside-down world where people kill each other over parking spaces, items on storm shelves.and family disputes.

Everyone, it seems, is armed, and everyone has a chip on their shoulders.

How does the average "good guy" hope to survive in such an insane society?

I certainly wish I had the answer to this question...............

I'm not taking a side here. I'm not condoning the attacks on 7th because I condemn them absolutely.
However, such killings have been going on for years, on the Palestinian people, carried out by Israel.
It's been going on so long that I doubt anyone knows who started it.
As with all conflicts, some people are selective about when they started, and how.
The relevant point is that Israel has been killing Palestinians for years in greater numbers than being killed in Israel. Not Hamas; civilians in Palestine.
(I don't know about the happenings in the West Bank).

Like I said; not taking a side but, nonetheless, facts are facts.

Wars, disputes, religious battles, political turmoil, and conflicts, all seem to have been, sadly, part of the Middle East since ancient times.

All I know is FAR TOO MANY innocent people....on BOTH sides......have lost their lives during the past two weeks.

So much heartache, heartbreak, anguish, and suffering with both the Israelis and the Palestinians.

In that part of the war, unrest and uncertainty have indeed been commonplace for many centuries............

In 1947 Palestinian Jews owned approximately 7% of the land and comprised a third of the population, the vast majority of those new emigres from post-war Europe. U.N. Resolution 181 partitioned Palestine and gave 56% of the land to a new nation-state; Israel. The new Israelis immediately began ethnic cleansing, expelling between 750,000 and one million Palestinians from what had hitherto been their homeland; approximately 75% of the indigenous population. They did this by a series of bloody massacres and the razing of approximately 400 Palestinian villages, like Deir Yassin, Abu Shusha, Tantura, Lydda and Ramle.
Racism, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide have been part and parcel of Israel since before it's inception.

Just heard that two American hostages taken by Hamas have been released.

This, in itself, is a miracle.

One can only imagine the horrors they endured, for nearly two weeks.

Please let this be "setting the stage" for more hostages to be released......

Israel has embarked on what some human rights groups are warning will amount to a genocide. As the world watches Gaza, the violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has skyrocketed. Days before the 7 October attack, armed Israeli settlers stormed the Palestinian village of Qusra, which stands south-west of the city of Nablus. Settlers fired at unarmed residents who had gathered to protect their village. That night, under the cover of darkness, settlers returned to destroy cars and electricity lines.
In the following days, settlers cut off the road leading to the village, only to return on 11 October with the IDF in tow. Israeli settlers opened fire at residents and rather than hold them back, as Israeli forces claim to do, they joined in. Four Palestinians were killed that day, with settlers killing three and soldiers killing one. The next day, settlers returned and attacked the funeral for the four killed the day before, opening fire once again, killing a father and his son.

The eyes of the world are on Gaza – but Palestinians are under attack in the West Bank too | Layth Hanbali

In cities around the nation.....and, indeed, the world, there have been many pro-Palestinian/pro-Israeli demonstrations.

I have noticed, during the coverage I have watched on the news the past two weeks, they these demonstrations have gotten louder, more rowdy, and more vehement.

I fear that these demonstrations are eventually leading to the two sides engaging in actual "hands-on" encounters (especially here at home) and get quite ugly.

As I have said previously, in ANY war, there are ALWAYS injustices on BOTH sides of the conflict, and far too many innocent people end up losing their homes, their families, their friends, their lands, and, all too often, their lives.

It's truly a "lose-lose" situation, and growing more and more dire by the hour...............

The Gaza/Egyptian border opened just long enough for 20 tractor trailers, loaded with critically needed supplies, to cross over, before it was again closed.

    20 trucks.....only 20 trucks......not even a drop in the bucket.

    Asinine.

All those other hundreds of trucks are still awaiting entry, loaded down with humanitarian supplies and medical equipment.....when will they be allowed to cross into Gaza?

Why not allow more trucks in, before even more innocent lives are lost?

Doesn't make sense to me at all, not in any form or fashion............

Finally, the Rafah gate was opened, I hope the aids could move to the Gaza city particularly to the hospitals.

That gate should be opened UNCONDITIONALLY to allow as much humanitarian aid into Gaza as is possible.

Far too many innocent lives have been lost in the past two weeks........

Though no one, certainly, could fault Israel for wanting to destroy the vermin known as Hamas, it makes no sense whatsoever to continually bombard, shell, and further destroy Gaza, and have thousands more innocent lives lost.

Somehow, someway, COOLER heads should prevail; with massive (often increasingly violent) protests (pro-Israel/pro-Palestinian) taking place in many countries around the globe, ONE conflict in Gaza, fighting terrorism, has caused so much vehemence (on both sides) around the world.

    "Cease fire"?

I have only heard this term tossed about by newsmen and reporters.

Here is what it all should boil down to:

"HOW can we destroy Hamas WITHOUT further loss of life to innocent civilians, and to minimize destruction?"

Seems that no one, as of yet, has come up with an answer to this question............

..........the United States is now prevailing to Israel to hold off its long-awaited ground assault on Gaza, hoping to have more Hamas hostages released.

I've been hearing that "intense negotiations" are ongoing, to free more hostages, before a ground war starts.

Between the death, slaughter, human sacrifices, and mass destruction that have taken place since the war began, a little more than two weeks ago, the furies of Hell have indeed been unleashed, death, destruction, and suffering everywhere.

Now, medical kits are beginning to be distributed to over 5,000 pregnant women (those nearing their due dates) to enable them to deliver the baby themselves if medical care cannot be reached.

What a sad way to bring a new life into this insane, violent world.............

    This just in...........

Israel's ground attack on Gaza has been (for now) put on hold; one of the reasons for this is that further negotiations can be carried out, regarding the freeing of more hostages taken by Hamas.

Wait and see....that's all any of us can do, besides hope and pray.............

Yes, it is a good news, but continuing the bombardments cous any physical and political actions to release the hostage. Israeli Air Force bombarded the free zons to flee the people from north to south last night, which it caused several more people to kill including kids, so these actions could not help to release the hostages.
I watch on 24 French TV channel an interview with Israeli people. Surprising, many of them were not agreed with Israeli Air Force actions to kill the annecenc Palestinian people, they believe there is no differences between Jewish and Muslims kids, and they ask Metanyaho to stop bombing Gaza. One of them asked the reporter about how many of Hamas members were killed during the last two weeks? The reporter said obviously, the numbers of Hamas member could be les than a few hundreds, because they know how to protect and hide themselves but there is no way to go for regular people.
It is a shame, 1500 to 2000 kids have been killed up to know. The Palestine people are a human shield by both Hamas and Israel.

Muslims and Jews, are, simply, HUMAN BEINGS, just like the rest of us.

In every group on this earth, you will always find sharp contrasts between good and evil.

It truly does something to me inside when I hear how many innocent people (on both sides) have been killed.

And, think of the Israelis and the Palestinians who (so far), HAVE survived......will they ever be the same?

They've lost their homes, businesses, neighborhoods, places or worship.

They've lost family members, relatives, and friends.

It is impossible to even attempt to fathom the severe mental trauma that all involved with suffer from for the rest of their lives, given what unspeakable horrors and hell they have seen and endured, the past few weeks.......................

Nearly 7,000 lives have been lost thus far in the Gaza war.

War is indeed "a feast for vultures".

What a damned, heartbreaking, sickening waste..............as in any war, it is always the innocent who suffer the most.........and, this war indeed, is no exception.........

So, now we understand way Jwish hate Moslem and Muslims hate Jwish? When you as a mother, father and children have lived in a strip of land with 2 millions people without any freedom and the facilities of your life are depend on some other gaverments and finally your home is bombarded and you lost the hole of your family and home, definitely you hate no matter who is right or wrong.
Me and you and many others understand this very simple point ,but It looks Mr. Metanyaho does not want to understand this fact , so he is a war criminal.

Here, I think, the PEOPLE themselves (Jewish and Muslim) should "call the shots" regarding the eminent ground invasion of Gaza.

After all, it is the PEOPLE.....the COMMON, EVERYDAY PEOPLE who make up a country; shouldn't THEY have a say into what actions their military SHOULD or should NOT take?

Are "The Powers That Be" totally out-of-touch with their people?

Most surely, ALL want the hostages released and Hamas wiped out; this, of course, goes without saying.

BUT.......is further death, destruction, and suffering necessary to achieve these goals?

    Think about it..................
