The defense minister of Israel said today that more than 10000 bombs have been dropped on Gaza by air force up to now, it means for every killed ennecen Palestinian more than one bomb were dropped. Also, it is surly a war crime, not war defence.
How many Hamas members were killed? I am sure their numbers is less than a few hundreds, because they are in tunnels., and Nethanyaho exactly knows this fact that the main loser are Palestinian not Hamas.

It never ceases to amaze me how Hamas built that complex and sophisticated network of tunnels under Gaza, without being detected by either Israeli intelligence or the Palestinian citizens.

Like all vicious vermin, Hamas burrows deep underground, waiting in their underground lairs to strike once again...........

I wonder have they thought of it like the 'food chain'.
If Gaza is the small fish in the chain and if Israel were to obliterate Gaza, wouldn't Israel become the small fish and have no small guy to push around or to play.
Instead; wouldn't it be the small fish being pushed around?
Wouldn't it then also mean that the Israel govt would have no pawn to use, to cause division/fear in Israel, which is the one thing that keeps the Israeli govt in power?

In the present Gaza war, I see many similarities to the American Civil War (1861-1865)

True, the North wanted to free the slaves in the South (most certainly, NO ONE could find error in this)

Of course (and thankfully) the slaves were freed.

    BUT.......

Look at the thousands of innocent people in the South that, like the Palestinians, who experienced death, destruction, and starvation.

The North devastated southern cities and towns until only smoldering ruins were left.

Railroad rails were ripped up, heated in huge bonfires made of the ties, and then wrapped around the telegraph poles like giant corkscrews ("Sherman's Bow-ties")

The elderly, women, the ill......were evicted from their homes, if they hadn't already fled to safety elsewhere.

The North, not surprisingly, defeated the south, largely because the North, even then, was very heavily industrialized.

The North had hundreds of factories, foundries, coal mines, iron works, machine shops, and shipyards.

Before the war, there were few factories or industries in the South.

After War broke out, Atlanta saw dozens of factories, iron works, and machine shops spring up almost overnight.

There were few industrial machines in the South, and blueprints from England and Germany (those that managed to slip through the Yankee blockades at the seaports) had to be relied upon by the few machinists in the South.

    My point?

The Israeli government targeted Gaza because of the sickening Hamas attacks.

A MORE than noble cause to wipe out such loathsome vermin, to be sure.

BUT.......in the process, thousands of innocent Palestinians have since lost their lives, Gaza largely destroyed, medical supplies, food, and water rapidly disappearing.

The dire shortages of medical supplies in the South during the war eerily echo today's grim situation in Gaza, with surgery bieig performed with no anesthesia.

Bull-headed, stubborn, military leaders, ruthless destruction and ravaging........and so, today, in 2024, the vicious, deadly cycle continues...........

    Question for today:

How can we call mankind "CIVILIZED" when such atrocities as we are now seeing in the Gaza region are taking place each and every day?

Recall, now, from the classic 1968 sci-fi classic, "PLANET OF THE APES":

".....beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's spawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, or lust, or greed........."

"........Yea, he will murder his brother to pocess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home, and yours.........."

Mr. Blinken has met with "Netan-yahoo", who STILL stubbornly refuses to call for a cease fire, to allow more innocent people (including Americans) to cross the border into Egypt to safety, and for more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

Personally, I think that "Nentan-yahoo" has now become a dictator, instead of a leader, not caring how many more thousands are killed, simply because he refuses to appear "weak" and call for a cease fire.

Now, I believe, it's all about POWER.

Meanwhile, it's getting uglier by the day; Jews who swore they would NEVER carry a gun are now purchasing guns and going for shooting lessons, in many areas around the US.

One Jewish man on the news said he never thought the day would come that he would be buying a gun, but, he, like so many other Jews, is now continually looking over his shoulder, afraid of being attacked.

What a way to live......a damn shame.............

It's worse than that. He's an elected dictator which means the Israeli population wants him to be their political leader. No need to suppress a population or to wipe out dissenters when the public wants the dictator.
If only they could 'see'/recognise; BN is doing what he needs to do to remain in position. He is not doing what is best for his country.

I agree that Hamas is evil but, it's a conflict, and I consider them both evil. Israeli is not defending itself but, rather, it is wreaking revenge, not on Hamas but on all Palestinians.

Yes, it would indeed seem that his ultimate goal is to wipe out the Palestinians and the land they occupy.

Meanwhile, around the world, anti-Jewish hate crimes are skyrocketing; Muslims have also found themselves the targets of hate since this War began.

Too, there have been a growing number of attacks on Sikh men in the New York area, in recent weeks.

Hatred.....of ANY kind..........is stupid, foolish, ignorant, and EVIL.

"Nentan-yahoo" has no idea at how much danger he is putting his OWN people in;does he ever worry about being a target himself?

With "Nentan-yahoo" refusing to acknowledge ANY sort of cease-fire (if only to allow humanitarian aid to come in, and for civilians to escape the unending death and destruction going on about them), I see this war as one which will be continuing for many months.....or even years.........to come...............

During the last 20 years, BN has got tens of billions dollars aids from American tax payers to develop the military facilities and to develop the new settlement in occupied Palestinian land ,and pushed them in to West Bank and Gaza strip like sardines. So that's why the Israeli like supporting him no matter he is a dictator or a liberal leader. On the other side, all American politicians like to support the Jewish wealthy communities in America to earn their votes for the next elections. This is a win-win game for both sides no matter who is big loser. Palestinian are big losers in short term, and Israeli people are big loser too in long term.
Obviously, you can not live comfort while you surrounding neighbors are poor and hunger.
These political games by Isreail and America cause to rise hate Zamatis worldwidely.
Now, many peoples around the world are watching what is going in Gaza. The tragedy that happened in Isreail and Gaza is not for the first times, it has happened many times during the last 75 years, and it will not be the last time until the dirty political games will over.

The new market opens in Isreail to sell gun to the Israeli. That's the newest business opportunities for American guns factories. Congratulations!!

I Googled around a few different topics this morning, starting first with some things I thought would generate interesting imagery that I could express in the Picture thread.

What I ended up with was "realism". But it eventually led me to music, which is less mature... (eyes rolled).

Finally, I typed out something about doxxing and it pulled up an image of Biden and Netanyahu sitting with both countries' flags behind and I don't know why but it made me sick...

Instantly, I tried to hide that. I am antidisestablishmentarian, which basically has me as apologist to antifa or to summarize, some sort of kiss up.

And here and now what I have to say is:

I do not understand our position on Israel. I can't understand how our leadership can align with them.

That has side effects... mostly ones that state a strong and globally supported position on terrorism; one with which I agree.

The situation involves an allied country within whose borders there was a horrific terrorist attack. Our response is to be supportive of our ally.

But our position seems to blatantly ignore our ally's intolerance, and thus enables their egregious human rights record with Palestinians.

Somehow, in America the word 'Palestine' is mistook from "Philistine"; something remembered from an apathetic half-hearted Sunday school session from a childhood of spiritual upbringing. I am no longer apathetic about the role of spirituality in my own life. I know the power of divinity. I am happy with myself and cannot let half-heartedness discolor my intentions or my forward-leaning direction.

I blame the ambiguous result; the result of people equating Palestine with Philistine or with Pagan or some other misinformed understanding, for our current problem: we are allied with a country who is regularly abusing the rights of a sect within its bounds. Have they no right to be there?

Israel is a modern ally. I do not have a position on their religious majority. Judaism is not a problem, and to be honest it is likely a major aspect of the solution. Israel and its people may have a pessimistic opinion of Palestinians. That is a tradition that must be updated.

And to put this in such mild candy-coated terms feels wrong or less effective, but I think it's a delicate situation.

Where do I stand? Am I just neutral?

I think that Hamas is the leadership in Gaza. That is something that can be changed, and changing that, and even just expressing the desire to change that is a beginning. It could be the beginning to a new system of values in Israeli government.

The United States has a voice there, but I feel it is muted. I feel that way because it's religious for many. In most scripture I remember from my upbringing; and before I converted to my current belief system, Israel was mentioned in the context of the religious majority in America. That is why we are tiptoeing in my understanding. We don't want to be brash and offend the religious majority, who are largely silent (until it's time to vote). It is in that way Israel is indoctrinated. From our childhood stories. From the times the bible was read to us, or from a sermon as we sat together in a church.

But the United States is modern. Our educated know well that foreign policy does not need to apologize to our allies if they are in violation of human rights, which by modern standards they are. That has not yet been said with full meaning or consequence.

All religions all around the world are against killing, so, taking advantage of any religion by politicians are crim. There is no reason for killing some terrorists like Hamas, we kill 10 000 innecens people including 3900 children. Just tell me how many of Hamas trrusits were killed !! Surly their numbers could not be more than a few hundreds, but for killing them we sacrificed 10000 lives.
Nethanyahu is not the leader and a hero for Isreal and Hamas is not the agent of Palestinian in Gaza too. Both of them should be tryle in an international curt as war criminal.
He definitely will kill all the Hamas members, but several other organizations will grow up among the Palestinian who lost their one loves , family members, relatives neighbors, and were destroyed their homes , farms ,shops, hospitals , schools and actually everything.
So, Nethanyahu is the greatest enemy for Isreail not a hero! The Israeli people should think and change their mind, they should be sure after this tragic and barbarian war there will not be any peace peace not only for Israel but also for Palestinian.

Earlier this evening (Monday) during "ABC World News", David Muir conducted a one-on-one interview with Nentanyahu.

It was QUITE interesting, to say the least (Muir conducted a very professional interview, asking some very pertinent questions); look for it online, it might be available.

    It is well worth watching....................

Yes, I watch the interview, he asked many clear questions but no answer from Netanyahu, just he tries to justify the killing of 10000 people! Otherwise, there is no logical reason to kill the innocence people for killing your enemies.

It would be interesting to hear how others who watched this interview last evening felt about it.

This war is now TOTALLY insane, NOT making ANY sense whatsoever, and Gaza is in near total ruins....it would take, easily, 100 years at least to even ATTEMPT to rebuild; ditto, the Ukraine.

And, to think, at this time last year, every night was news filled with the stark images of smoldering Ukranian ruins and the images of a highly-demented, power-hungry, sly-as-hell, sneaking Russian dictator.

It's almost too damn sad and despicable to discuss.............

The defense minister of Isreail said the air force bombarded 14000 times since the war started in Gaza.
A simple calculation shows if Gaza's extension is 400 K2 about 70 times each kilometer has been hited.
If we assume the average population in each sguar kilometer in Gaza is 6000 , so, 6000 people have been hited 70 times.
What it means? It is a defense or a genesis! What do you think as a human?
I hope this barbaric war will be ended as soon as possible, because just inesens people of both sides are loser.
