    Friends:

We hear too much, far too much, about "religious factions" during times of many major conflicts.

I cannot, for the life of me, fathom WHY there is often so much prejuidice and intolerance regarding one's faith.

After all, despite the many differences in the world's religious, ONE thing they ALL have in common is that the faithful are ALL seeking a "pathway" to a spiritual connection to whomever the percieve as God.

    Think about this:

When I worked in New York, in the building where I worked, many workers arrived by subway, others arrived by bus.

Still others utilized commuter trains, ferries, and taxis.

    My point?

ALL of these people shared a COMMON destination, despite the many ways they traveled to ONE building to begin their workday.

In our religious lives, we ALL may be "traveling the path", utilizing many different routes, BUT, we ALL are traveling towards a COMMON destination........GOD.

I have often read that many people fear what they do not (or will not) understand.

This, sadly, rings true when one begins talking about religious beliefs.

We hear so much about "brotherhood"; I only wish we could SEE more of it......it is sorely needed now......

Hamas attacks like a barbarian group to Israeli civilian and arms, so what is the Israelian government reaction? Anti attack plus cutting water and the electricity of Gaza where 2 millions Palestinian are trapped. What is the guilt of these people? If we invaited into their land and pushed them out to held them in a tiny land, what is their guilt? They are human like all Jewish, Christian, Muslim, they have right to travel freely,to go to Urshalim and any other point inside or out side of Palestinian. It is not right to cut water , electricity, abound the roads, destroy their homes, lands, farms, garden, hospital, schools when ever Israeli gaverments for any right or wrong reasons.
We ask why terrorists raise? All the unrealistic barbarism actions by Israeli gaverments could raising these ugly reaction by Hamas or any other group. The Palistinian people have lived in the conservative camps for more than 70 years after the stabilishing Israeli country.
If I like to live in my own home is not needed to kick out my neighbor from his home. It is so clear, if I like to live safe my neighbor should be safe too.
The priminsrer of Israeli, BB, should understands this simple fact" The peace comes from our hearts not from our guns"

Watching , the BBC, NBC, CNN and many other news channels shows watch is going on in Gaze. No water, electricity, medicine, destroyed hospitals is just punishing the people who have no way to scape, not punishing Hamas.
I am not army expert, but I think if Israel likes to punish Hamas has to ground attack directly to Gaza and to fight with Hamas, not to blind bombarding the residential area including hospitals.
This ugly war will be happened again and again there is no end.

Forums are for discussions?............even if you dont agree?......might open your mind/view to others(think)

Problem is both sides claim something based on religion(history), while both sides already were there for many many generations(archaeology). There is also a third party of just arabs, who are totally tired of this shit, who also lived there for many many generations.

If you know or are interested about the full history/archaeology(outside your own bible) and how the state of israel came to be after ww2..........it might solve some of your bias ;)

    I totally agree; 100%.

This latest war, sadly, continues what would certainly be called a "vicious cycle"....I have a very uneasy feeling that this war is going to be prolonged.......VERY prolonged, and the death, carnage, and destruction we are now seeing unfold on our television screens from many thousands of miles away, is only only a prelude to what the future holds.

Basic "human rights" are, sadly, being challenged in far too many places these days; what is now playing out in Gaza is a glaring, brutal example of this.

Recall Dr. Zaius instructing Cornelius to read from the "Sacred Scrolls" ("Planet Of The Apes")..........

"......beware the the beast Man, for he is the Devil's spawn; alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, or lust, or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to posess his brother's land........."

    Talk about being "spot on"........sobering...............

'Poor Palestine' point of view is just absolutely fucked in the head to me. These people harbored terrorists who launched rockets into Israel and organized a horrific massacre of innocent people...

There's this process called Selective Breeding, where all the organisms with undesirable traits get culled out of existence. It's how we have highly productive chickens and crops to feed billions of people. There is only one way there will ever be peace on earth. That is with the immediate extermination of any population that does not wish to coexist with its neighbors. That is the only way. Turning a blind eye to how religion breeds violent extremists is never going to end well. 'Attack me first and you're GONE. Point a gun at me and you're GONE', will develop a world with peaceful people. Call it cold and harsh, nature is cold and harsh.

I don't think we should equate Palestinians here. Hamas did this, and yes it's sad that they have the support of some Palestinians but we run the risk of further alienating a vibrant cultured people who are deserving of love and compassion the same as anyone else.

If we aren't careful, the attitude destroys our own sacred parts of life; we no longer have access to that which we were willing to destroy of others.

And we become more "existing" and less "living".

It is a fight to keep from becoming a person of 'existence' and it has been my decision for myself to live life with direction. And it isn't easy. Everywhere I turn it is evident that there is something wrong, and the gravitation of its magnitude (as measured in numbers of people 'existing') is immeasurable.

I want to make it more normal to disambiguate 'Palestine', 'Gaza', and 'Hamas'.

The big problem here (and the problem I mentioned earlier) is Hamas represents Gaza, and Palestinian interests in Gaza in some ways run counter to the interests of others in Israel.

Replacing Hamas is no easy feat, but they are considered a terrorist organization by the United States. Without them, who will protect Palestinians? Well, in other situations like Afghanistan, other bodies of governance like the Taliban have assumed leadership. Their focus through a Western lens seems to many very conservative and not psychologically sustainable for its women. But we have learned to understand that the Taliban are their leaders. Perhaps the same could happen for Palestine.

I think it is better to replace the leadership though. Doing that would quell a very angry Israel and postpone the fighting to ceasefire.

If Israel can promise and demonstrate fairness to Palestinians, maybe Gaza can present new leadership and let the fighting begin to be part of the past. And after a generation it will be history and a healthy reminder that Palestine and Israel have not lost their way.

I find it both ironic and sobering that, these days, we hear the names of so many places we once only associated with the Bible and biblical stories when hearing reports of war and bloodshed.

And, for those who are bigoted enough to hate both the Jews and people from the Middle East, let me remind them of this:

    Where did JESUS come from?

    Hoboken?

    The Bronx?

    Pasedena?

IMHO, many ignorant people hate simply for the pure joy of hating, and to feel SUPERIOR to those they deem beneath them...............

Given the state if this insane, war-torn, deteriorating planet, I would say that "the Big Man upstairs" is working triple overtime.

One cannot help but wonder just how many people are now thinking: "When will it all end?"

"How much more can we take?"

Human beings, of course, being mere mortals, are certainly not as resilient and as invincible as they think.............

Just saw a news report about an elderly Israeli doctor from New Jersey, who has not heard from his sister or cousin since the War began.

    He matter-of-factly stated:

"......they live in an area where there are no human rights and no freedoms........"

Mankind still has light-years to go, before we all FINALLY become truly "civilized".............

God worship is (to me) obviously a waste of ones time and energy. If the earth is ever going to be run correctly--that is--for the benevolent good of all sentient beings, and the earth itself , a major shift in thinking of those who have control now would have to begin and follow through on the best of economic systems for all concerned. A realization that we, as the dominant species on this planet , with the worst of humanity continuing to take control of governments , resources and countries --have to realize that the whole rig must change radically. One can't sit around praying to a god when someone else is about to slaughter your family and friends. However---how do radical changes to economic systems, long standing racial attitudes change, the imbalance of equality ,the inevitable wars for power and control change? We're on our own here on this little blue ball hurtling through space --the only home we're most likely to ever have--I have no answers --and evidently--neither does anyone else. I suppose-----sadly---keep your powder dry.

Believers and agnostics have, indeed, been waging their own "warfare" for centuries.

Both sides steadfastly believe that THEIR beliefs are to BELIEVED.

Questioning the existence of God (or the existnce some other superior being), I feel, is becoming more and more commonplace in today's society, what with so many believing their prayers are simply not being heard, given the state of society today..

Though a long-lapsed Catholic myself, I must admit there is much confusion and doubt in my mind, given the unending brutality and intolerance in this world, that spreads like a cancer.

But, then again, there is that part of my inner soul that HAS to find SOME solace through, if not prayer, meditation, and hope that there is someone "up there" reading my thoughts, and helping to guide me....
