Im not an anti-semite 2 out of 4 of my best friends are jewish. I personally believe that any country run based on a religion is bad. I dont think that Isreal should have been formed. The day that Isreal was formed is known as al-Nakba, or catastrophe to the palestinians. Thousands of Palestines were displaced.

Also, its not like im saying "death to Isreal." I dont think it should be a country, that doesnt mean that i think it is evil. It also does not mean that i think Arab countries that do not recognize Isreal are good.

Furthermore, I have never said anything anti-semetic on this thread or forum.

as for brave sir rubin he's so pro israel he won't even go back there, he was doing everything to not go back there and asking people how he could avoid going back there recently on these forums.

I'm going to Israel next summer. I still refuse to serve in the army though. I do not support all of what Israel does... but I strongly support its existence and its right to protect itself. I have no strong patriotic feelings towards it and refuse to die for a country, no matter what country it is. I do not want anything to do with any army whatsoever because I strongly condemn violence of any form. Sadly enough, people have chosen to engage in violence against Israel over ideological fanatic causes. Israel will be destroyed unless it fights back, and it fights back as fairly as possible. Israel could wipe the Arab world off the face of the planet if it wanted to, yet it doesn't... because it's a country that believes in peace. The people of Israel are a pacifist people. I have never seen more liberal and intelligent people in the world. I wish to go back to Israel someday after I finish my education in the U.S. for the simple reason of being able to experience the quality of life and people that Israel has to offer, together with the amazing technological and social innovations.

We'll even legalize marijuana soon. The "Green Leaf" party is a couple of votes shy of a Knesset seat.

if the israelis are a pacifist people why are they taking the land of the inhabitants and bulldozing their homes? if someone did this to you wouldn't this make you angry too?

the israeli are being dragged along by the religious right wing and real estate speculators who make money from stolen land.

if israel stopped making people angry then maybe the problems would go away. the israelis themselves i think are caught between their own government and the people the government has made angry. the first step would be for the government to be voted out which would then mean less people were made angry.

 

I find it hard to believe that a country which engaged in military conflicts the very day it became a country and has never stopped is a pacifist country.

Also, with the amount of influence the USA has over Isreal, marijuana being legal beyond ridiculous.

No one is taking anyone's land. That land does not belong to the "Palestinians". There wasn't a "Palestinian" people before 1948... they were just Arabs living on the land of Egyptian/Syrian/Lebanese/Whatever descent. That land has been occupied so many times that you cannot possibly assign ownership to it.

Technically it belongs to the ancient mesopotamian people.

Most of the bulldozed houses are those of terrorists, and hell... Israel is nice enough to only bulldoze their houses. Other nations such would go as far as sending the entire terrorist's family to prison.

The religious right wing and the zionist movement are both extreme weak in Israel with the rise of a new and extremely secular generation.

I do agree that the people of Israel are in the position which you described, and you can clearly see how Israeli politics have become more liberal as my generation became old enough to vote.

You can expect a much more liberal Israel in the near future as long as the Arabs don't try to completely destroy us.

Which is my main problem with the general leftist movement against Israel (which is one of the very few complaints I have with the left wing political movement) , people seem to forget that Israel is a far more left wing country than Palestine, sure I hate their foreign policy and the idea of any form of religious state, but I despise Palestinian foreign and domestic policy, and I'd take a Zionist state over an Islamist state any day.

i'm actually pretty happy sitting where i am, with my country never having attacked cuba or intending to. perhaps you would go and fight for jehova in iraq or are you a little too gutless like cadcruzer perchance?
