And if you go back 250 years, the English took this country from the Aboriginals. 400 years ago, they took North America from native Americans. 600 years ago, the Spanish and Portugese took most of South America from the Mayans, Incas and Aztecs. 1200 years ago the French took Britain from the Celt-Romans. 1600 years ago the Saxons took Britain from the Welsh.


And so on. History is no more than the study of greedy fucking people killing each other in the name of conquest, religion or wealth.

But can't we get over it? Otherwise everyone-every single damn' person on this planet-has a reason to start a war. Because everyone has had something precious taken away from them.

I hear co-operation is great, too. Some have obviously forgotten about that.

 

I know that after WW2 the jews were dispersed all over the world and wanted a "homeland" but to take over said land and annex the residents ie Palestinians already living there is and was so fucking wrong! Are the Palestinians right to fight to get some basic freedoms and recognition back? - of course they are! Should the Israelis be allowed to use superior fire and manpower to subjugate their neighbours? - of course they shouldn't!

Really a tricky and old conflict but not thousands of years old I think, but since the state of Israel got created. Anyway, the citizens on both sides have my sympathy and I'm glad I don't have to come up with the solution (or live near them).

 

Not fighting for all eternity, just running business from wherever they were.

The fighting is a "recent" development in a relative sense.

Amen to that. Isn't there a way to limit the sizes of signatures? I get lost just trying to figure out who posted what with all these jpeg sigs.
