I was going to put shimmy but I just read what rollingalong wrote and I quoted from there since I was talking about transformer box

its filled with oil to keep the transformer cool...not worth the health hazard but there is some copper in there ...ive seen them in a certain local scrap yard ..they use the pcb oil to keep the dust down i bet those guys all die of cancer

the steel wire is not worth it as it will need to be cut into 4 feet or shorter pieces...by the time you factor in the torches or saw blades and sweat its not worth it

the other wires will be mostly aluminum ..possibly copper clad aluminum but again not worth the trouble to skin and clean



the wires that fed the house are also most likely aluminum because of the age...those would be the only ones worth checking to see maybe they actually used copper...check it good with clippers to see if its pure

 

oh well.....guess he pole stays where it is
