right, that's why America wins, it's not just a place, it's a whole fucking idea. It's quite possibly the greatest experiment in politics and sociology ever.
example.... America: Muslim walks past Islamic... nothing happens Middle East: Muslim gets shot before he even sees the Islamic
Well youse did kind of help create the disaster: http://www.alternet.org/world/14518..._own_--_the_u.s's_hidden_role_in_the_disaster
This argument is constantly made against the world bank, IMF, ect of what they do in reshaping country's economies. Guess what, countries go to the world bank cause their economy sucks and is near collapse. The world bank is what it is, a bank. It's not aid, it's loans given under the impression they'll be used to update infrastructure to make sure the bank gets repaid, and like any loan it comes with pre-conditions. Changing a country's agriculture system from subsistence to export oriented is one of the smartest things you can do. This is Africa's problem, they try to do it but being so large and lacking infrastructure it will never be accomplished without roads, railroads, ect being built. For poor countries, anything that is exporter brings much needed hard currency into the country to build the industries it needs. This is economics 102. A bit more advanced then 101.
There are so many things that can make someone ashamed of their country. I am sad and mad at my country bc the government has no respect for those with ayahuasca or peyote in their religious practices. One of my good friends got jailed last year for possession of ayahuasca tea, and is looking at a long time in court and isnt getting out anytime soon. and all bc he wanted to take an herb that is a big part of his religion. On the other hand we do have some freedoms 3rd world countries do not. I think there is nothing wrong with beong proud or ashamed of ones country, we all have our way of looking at things. And almost every country has its faults, some more than others. that is my 2 cents, forgive me I hope it makes sense bc I am a little low on energy and running on little sleep.
america pwns and we pwn hard. we pwn all the noob countries if they challenge us to battle...we have guns like pshew pshew pshew and brrrrcchhhhhhshhaaaaaooooooowwwww
Right... because the main reason to live is to "pwn" other "noob" countries if they challenge you. What is this? The fall of the Roman Empire? You're in the 21st century. At least some Americans are making the effort to help people around the world during their times of despair. Don't put their effort to shame by admitting all you truly care about is blowing people up.
we should have pwn'd haiti instead of helping...at least then all the hate against us would be more justified then we'd move on to pwn canada finally to quit their nonsense make-believe country from existing
I'm going to ignore all this. there are some things that shouldn't be discussed over the internet politics is one of them. and sports. i realize now that I cannot change a persons mind that is already made up. and also I cannot make them see any other viewpoint than their own. i can, on the other hand, understand their viewpoint and take what they say away silently. if you people say "we pwn, with our guns.. blablahblah" i think .. why would they say that... its because the united states has the strongest military in the world, and its a major part of their culture...i GUESS i can't get mad at them for that can i? You Americans see war as an ecomnic opportunity. it's morally unjustified, but a lot of money is involved. that actually looks alot better to the public, but the end result is still the exact same as war. aid relief as well, another economic opportunity. for example, look at the aid relief going into Haiti... Who's running the airport there and coordinating all of the logistics? The united states marines. The usa provides relief and reconstruction funds so later when the country becomes stronger it will have its support in the UN and it will provide it with natural resources. aka, Afghanistan. oil. Iraq oil there's always a motive... its not just that America craves war they crave money.
I think the problem with us here is that WE'VE (we ,the citizens) let corporations get so much power that they can get anything they want by buying the legislators votes in an obviously flawed way to run a government." The squeeking wheel gets the grease" or in other words, the conservative rich/corporations squeek much louder than we,the ordinary citizens, consequently giving them unlimited access to OUR MONEY.Our input is largly ignored.-----However, I can get in my car and drive anywhere I want without showing "papers" to anyone. I can call anyone a prick including any president and I won't be tried for words or thoughts. I can move anywhere I want ,rent or buy a house if I have the bucks ,I can live in the streets,or I can live in the woods. I've critisized my country plenty over the years, but it has been a grand experiment guided by some geniuses that had brilliant ideas about the relationship between government and it's citizens. Too bad it's been warped by greedy bastards with no or very little consciences --the ones that think they're quite a bit better than regular folk and deserve to have it all by rigging the law and money games, while denying equity for those less fortunate than them. Hate america? Some do,some don't. Some have good reason and others are full of shit and would love to be here.--------so it goes.
You're right Noela--it's turned into "all about the money". It's not the way I'd run the country, but I'm,of course ,nobody. It would take millions of nobodies to make some changes for the better. Unfortunately we've been lulled to sleep with bullshit, which doesn't speak well for our intelligence.
This. I say when this Haitian disaster is over, we take our 10,000 marines(not like it'd take anymore to conquer Canada) and finally put an end to the nightmare known as Canada.
