Not what im saying. What im saying is that you cant be complaining about not having white people festivals because of the dominant history, as opposed to celebrations of frreedom

 

So it's only okay to have festivals about you if you've been oppressed?

The point im making is that the celebrations that black people have is about frredom, not elitism, and if whites were to have a similar festival that was not about freedom, it would be both racist and eliteist.

 

But's that crap, it's not racist. Anything particularly about one group is elitist, white, black, whatever the fuck. So because my race is dominant, I should not be proud of who I am?

We can't have a holiday about being white because we weren't oppresed is what you're saying, ass clown. It's not elitist, it's celebrating who we are as a race. That's what everyone else is celebrating, right?

The reason why only whites can be racist is that we are still the race with the power. Racism didn't end with emancipation and it still continues today. The white man is still more likely to get the job over the black woman. A black guy still can't safely drive down the street in some states or towns without fearing being pulled over and getting trumped up charges from the white cop, or being assaulted by the cop, or fearing the car breaking down in a white racist town. Many of you may claim reverse racism against you because you live in a predominantly black, latino, or [insert race that is not white here] town and you get called a honky. This is not racism, because as a white person, you still have inherent power over every person of color in that town. While you may get called names [cry me a river], you can still leave that town and get a higher paying job, find housing easier, get a better education easier and get treated with more respect in most places in the country. A black person can have prejudice against a white person, but racism is an institutional thing. Nowhere in this country is there institutional racism against a white person.
