I wish lightening bugs ate mosquitoes. Those "mosquito repelling" plants do NOT work here...if anything, they seem to alert them as to where to come...or maybe my blood is extra sweet. :p

    I HELL HATE mosquitoes.

Maybe a bat house would work? It might attract bats and they eat a wicked amount of those biters. :)

    ^ please describe!

As far as I can tell...I AM a mosquito trap...well, not really NOW because I literally bundle up when I go out side. Just walking to the mail-box without my long everything on, I'm bitten up...grrrr

(frozen pigeons - lol - at least they'd be easy to toss and wouldn't leave you itching :) )

i made an ugly, but delicious soup for dinner. some of my best tasting food looks pretty terrible. i guess its better than if it looked nice and tasted like crap.

and i made spice cake (so that we have munchies before the heat wave hits tomorrow) and popsicles yesterday.

oh man! i havent seen Jumanjii in AGES!

I've actually seen some bats around, not many, but some...the ones I've seen haven't even made a dent in these super-mosquitoes in this yard. I think I saw a few with little umbrellas and headlights. :mickey: Or...perhaps this yard is housing some of those genetically-modified things!

I'll have to look into that...doesn't a bat house need to be put up high somewhere?

Next thing you know the little buggers will own tanks. :)

My friend has a few up and they are hung on the eves of the house with hooks. I am not sure how high they have to be but I know they help attract bats and they eat a lot of bugs. :)

Got a nasty deep cut on my thumb, from trying to shove a cucumber into a tomato slicer...

to quote Alton Brown on mandolin handguards: " always use the hand guard. a lot of chefs just throw them away which is why they have nicknames like stubs and....bleedy."

i leaned down to check under a chair for the puppy, smashed my eyebrow/ temple area on another chair. ow.

Baby nap... don't wanna waste a baby nap.

Am I the most terrible mother ever for wishing I could be wasted in a bar right now?

Maybe not, it'd be worse if I WAS
