The only reason the Bible gets so much attention is because it is the highest selling book in the world and has been so for just about all of our lives. That doesn't prove it's true, that just proves the world is full of people that will read a book and believe it because they're told if they do they will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven. Never mind whether or not the shit in the book makes any sense. Just know that if you go against it, the unconditionally loving and forgiving God who already took care of your sins will sentence you to eternal damnation.

No wonder so many atheists cite the contradictions within Christianity as their main reason for not believing.

Either lack of a life or a subconscious obsession with God.

What else would make a straight man sign up to debate with gay men online about sexuality?

Or a white supremacist sign up to debate with black people about what race is superior?

I aint here to knock the Bible, there is actually a lot of Truth in it. I'm just saying at least disregard the parts that doesn't make sense.

"Sanctuary" is the forum for believers only. Nobody who wants to understand or debate American history or politics or current events can ignore christianity. It is tightly woven throughout everything.

If you do that, aren't you more or less making up your own religion as you go along? If parts deserve to be ignored, what does that do to the credibility of the rest of it?

That's not true. Just because parts of a Faith is bullshit doesn't make the entire Faith bullshit. I have very little expectations in the intelligence of most Christians but I actually have grown to respect the Bible.
