First of all, calling it a delusion is an assumption and is also needlessly insulting. You can't call it that if you are honestly asking a question.

We reap what we sow. If we follow behaviors that are not conducive to bringing about happiness for ourselves then we can create a hell for ourselves on earth. If this is our only precious life then it makes most sense to make the best of it.

If we do something, say murder someone, even if there is no heaven, god, et al, it doesn't really matter. The point is that each life is precious and doing something like that would be wrong. If we are atheists and we see this is the only life, then killing someone should been seen as very heinous. Who is anyone to take that precious life from another?

There are many that follow Christ without even realizing it. The point is to be true to ourselves and to have honor.

You sound like a member of a cult that values death over life or at least claims to not acknowledge a difference between the two.

If that's the case what keeps you from "moving on" to the next level?

And you sound like the typical atheist who stands for nothing and knows nothing so you believe whatever people sound like they're making the most sense instead of finding out on your own.

And you didn't really just ask me why I didn't commit suicide right?

Have you ever read the Bible? You sound like someone who has only read parts and depends on what others say about the Bible for you opinion of it.

Glad to hear you think it is so funny.
But the simple truth is there are many things that it would be good to have a healthy fear of, God just happens to be one of them.
I don’t believe anyone said you should fear love. Although the Bible does say God is Love, the Bible does not leave God as one dimensional as you seem to think he is. The Bible points out that God has a whole personality and is not just love.
Almost done of this is what the Bible teaches. I can see you have no idea what I believe.
I know why I believe the Bible to be the word of God, why do you believe your God is the true God?
Although I do defend the Bible, how do you know where I get my information from?
Interestingly you talk about verifying the words of the Bible but when I asked a similar question about your God, you thought it some how insulting and did not answer.

Sorry that you missed the point of the analogy. Oh well, not everybody appreciates analogies.

There's no such thing as a healthy fear.

This is what I mean by the Bible keeps its followers stupid. How can they teach that God is all loving and forgiving yet tell you to fear Him? Why would you fear someone who Loves you unconditionally? A better analogy would have been a parent and child. The only children who fear their parents are abused children. Time to wake up and realize fear does nothing but hold people back. And Love is not one dimensional, Love encompasses all. Everything falls under Love except fear, only because fear is an illusion. An illusion that can be converted to Love with a shift in perspective.

And I don't have to read the entire Bible to know it describes God as evil. The Bible describes God as possessive, controlling, vindictive, spiteful, overbearing, and jealous. I dunno about you but that sounds pretty fuckin evil to me.

Far as how I know my Truth, it's because I get it from within, the same thing I tell everybody else to do. What makes you think some book full of shit you cannot directly verify yourself knows more than me, or the next man?

I follow Jesus mainly as a role model whose beliefs have the potential for creating Heaven on Earth if more people followed them. I don't expect to be going anywhere after death except six feet under, to provide a meal for hundreds of worms and maggots.

I think there are lots of things to be genuinely afraid of, like guns, and poisonous snakes, and nuclear North Korea and Iran. Those I can't do anything about I try to ignore. As for Yahweh in the Bible, you're not the first to have that impression. Christian Gnostics and Marcionites believed He was so mean he must be a false God, and Jesus was sent here to disclose the true one. Of course, they got eliminated by their competition early on, so we have a different view today. I argue with you a lot, man, but I like the way you think for yourself. Keep it up!

Your first spiel makes no sense so i won't comment on it,

And yes if you truly believe death is just an illusion what keeps you from "moving on" with or without John Edwards?

Just because you call yourself a Christian doesn't mean you're following Jesus. ;)

Life is an illusion as well, as is many other things including time, space, and even fear.

What do you know about the world and life itself?

You have any knowledge on any area of physics? Because science and spirituality are starting to pretty much go hand in hand. And last time I checked, science was atheists' weapon of choice.

I'm guessing your referring to Quantum physics when you say spirituality and science goes hand in hand, can you define what you would consider spirituality?

If by spirituality you mean the sense of wonder you may feel looking down on the world from the top of a mountain, or getting misty eyed from reading a Robert Frost poem then I would agree.

As for science being "atheism's" weapon, well I would say that is a gross over simplification.

    Nope

I remember I once got into it with some dudes at this party. They were too scared to step to me on their own so they went and got some other dude to run up on me with a gun. He pulled it out on me and asked if I had a problem. I laughed in his face and said "fuck you gon do with that?" Long story short, he ended up offering to go back and do the guys who sent him to do me. I let them dudes live tho. Moral of the story, fear will not keep you alive.

You can look up spirituality for yourself. All you're gonna do with my answer is find a way to argue against it.

'There's no such thing as a healthy fear." Really? Then perhaps you would be so good as to post a clip of you petting a bear cub while the she bear looks on.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to define Love and Fear for us, both words can have several meanings and in fact, I’ve had people tell me that Love and Sex are the same thing.

Actually, yes you do. Because you are speaking about things you do not know.

Maybe one day you’ll realize that what is inside you is not always true and can not always be trusted. You keep talking about verification but what do you use to verify your “truth”, just because you got it from “within” does not automatically make it truth.
