Many things, for one thing, unlike your inner “truth”, the Bible is a open to everybody so they can verify it’s veracity for themselves.

Oh by the way, if you can stop laughing for a moment perhaps you can answer my question; You keep talking about verification but what do you use to verify your “truth”, just because you got it from “within” does not automatically make it truth.

I'm sorry, man. The idea that people reading the Bible can verify its truth doesn't stand up, particularly when apparent contradicitons like vegetation being created before the making or setting of the moon, sun and stars are explained away by saying "make" and "set" mean uncovered or disclosed. I don't think anybody reading the Bible without guidance from an inner truth would find the Bible's truth any more self evident than the Bhagavad gita or the Qur'an.

If it interprets itself, I don't need to.

Like I've said before, you can believe anything you want. If you can come with better answers, then fine, let's see them. But I never said that all that it takes to verify the Bible is to read it, I said the Bible is an open book available to all so that if a person wants to verify it they are free to do so.

J.Q has a John Wayne complex me thinks, I've had gun's pointed in my direction and I'm quite thankful that I had a healthy fear of what they could do.

I'm glad you "let them dudes live tho" :piggy:

    Good point. :)

I think that even if someone pointed a "unloaded" gun at me accidentally, I would have enough of a healthy fear of what guns can do, to ask them to be careful and please point the gun elsewhere. ;)

My same "inner Truth" is within you as well. Why do you want someone else to give you the Truth so bad? Religion = taking someone elses beliefs and making it your own. And you can say what you like but at least my inner Truth doesn't tell me stupid shit like people used to live to be 950 years old. I can make sense out of every single thing I declare to be True.

My "inner Truth" says God is Love. The way to get close to God is by letting Love in your heart. Do you know anything about the chakras?

    Exactly.

The Bible is full of contradictions and it does nothing but brainwash its followers. All I say is think for yourself and come to your own conclusions instead of letting someone else or a scripture do it for you. And the Bible damn sure cant be verified on any serious level when they say Noah lived to be over 800 years longer than the oldest documented person in history. And that's just one contradiction. How about the fact God decided to punish mankind simply because some chick convinced a dude to eat fruit from a particular tree?

And OWB are you seriously telling me the Bible doesn't describe God as possessive, controlling, and jealous? If I had a dollar for every time I heard an old black person scream out "God is a jealous God" like that shit is something to be proud of, I'd be a damn millionaire.
