No, I just don't know how to explain it any more plainly. If you don't understand why it makes sense, I have no idea what to say.

 

it wasn't a body guard. and it was a modified weapon. one on which the safety had been deliberately defeated to make it a 'hair trigger', cowboy stile, hee haw.

the three shots fired into the air are known and accounted for. doing so is a way of signaling an emergency when what you have most immediately at hand with which to do so is a gun. this was done by a sharif's deputy, and had nothing to do with the shot that killed him (kennidy) and gave the guy in the seat in front of him a hot foot. it was done AFTER the two shots in question.

these are all matters of historical record.
